What is Li Bai's poem about going by boat?

A gift for Wang Lun.

Tang Libai

Li Bai was just about to leave when he heard a farewell song from the shore.

Even if the Peach Blossom Pond is deep, it is not as deep as Wang Lun's sending away my love.

Li Bai is going to leave by boat.

Suddenly I heard a song on the shore.

Even if the Peach Blossom Pond reaches as deep as thousands of feet,

Not as good as a gift from Wang Lun.

This poem was written in the 14th year of Tianbao (755). Li Bai left Qiupu (now Guichi, Anhui Province) for Jingxian County, visited Taohuatan, and left his friend Wang Lun. Wang Lun is a good friend of Li Bai. He used to be a county magistrate. After resigning, I lived in Taohuatan, Jingxian County and had a villa at home. He is generous and hospitable, friendly with Li Bai and other poets, and often has poetry exchanges. Li Bai visited Wang Lun this time, and Wang Lun treated him with wine. Li Bai wrote this poem when he left.

At the beginning of this poem, Li Bai was about to walk by boat when he suddenly heard a song on the shore. Write about the scene when Li Bai left Taohuatan. At this time, the ship was about to leave, and suddenly I heard someone walking and singing on the shore. Suddenly, Li Bai didn't know that someone would come to see him off; Step on the song and write off the expression of singing from the shore. Who is he? This poem was not written directly until the last sentence. It turned out to be a good friend Wang Lun.

Three or four sentences are narrative and lyrical. Peach Blossom Pond is deeper than thousands of feet, not as deep as Wang Lun's love poems. Li Bai said: Although the pond in Taohuatan is as deep as thousands of feet, it is not as deep as the friendship that Wang Lun gave me! Qianzu described the pool as deep, emphasizing that the pool was deep, which meant to show his deeper friendship. Here, compared with sending my love to thousands of feet, adding the word "less than" is meaningful and intriguing.

There is also a story about the interaction between Li Bai and Wang Lun. It is said that Wang Lun wrote to invite Li Bai: Did Mr. Rainbow visit? There are ten miles of peach blossoms here; Does Mr. Wang like drinking? There are ten thousand hotels here. Li Bai went happily. As a result, Wang Lun told him that peach blossom is the name of the pool, and there is no peach blossom here. Wanjia is a hotel owner surnamed Wan, and there are not many hotels. Li Bai smiled and said, Wang Lun entertained Li Bai for several days. When he left, he sent many gifts and personally saw him off. Li Bai felt it and wrote a poem about Taohuatan. This story can be found in Yuan Mei's Poems with the Garden in Qing Dynasty. Although it is a legend, it may not really happen, but it is quite interesting.
