Lingshan Temple is located in the deep mountain 20 kilometers east of Mianning County, and there is a large-scale ancient temple. Lingshan Temple was built in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, and it is the largest religious temple in Mianning County. The main building, Daxiong Hall, is spacious and magnificent with solemn structure. The front hall is dedicated to Sakyamuni, with eighteen arhats on both sides, and the back hall is dedicated to the woodcut statue of Yang, the founder of Lingshan Temple. Facing the giant Buddha, there is a sitting statue of the protector of Wei Tuo. It is said that all the Wei Tuo in the world are standing, only Wei Tuo of Lingshan Temple is sitting, because Lingshan Temple was originally clean, and Wei Tuo stood eagerly to protect him. In front of the temple is the newly-built glazed tile mountain gate, centered on the courtyard of the main hall, with many houses and halls on both sides, which are connected vertically and horizontally to form an ancient architectural complex. There are six towering ancient pine trees outside the mountain gate, and three or four people hold them together. These trees are at least 200 years old. It is the most important symbol of Lingshan Temple.
The history of Lingshan Temple has long been recorded in local chronicles and stone tablets. Yang Zushi's common name is Yang, his legal name is Wu Zhen, and his legal name is Purdue. He is from Longyang County, Changde District, Hunan Province. Qing Qianlong forty-seven years, you Mianning. He heard that Mount Tai was the place where the ancient Buddha practiced burning lanterns, so he planned to go there until he reached the top. Sure enough, the scenic spot is still there, and the address is obvious. Yang Zushi lived in Qinglong Lake, where he continued to practice and build temples. At that time, there were probably more than 100 Mianning disciples under his door. Lingshan Temple was built in Qianlong about 59 years ago. Xin Dacheng, the magistrate of a county, named the temple Xiling, while the folks called it Lingshan Temple. Yang Zushi stayed in Mianning for 22 years and practiced in Lingshan Temple for 9 years. In February of the 9th year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty, he sat up and died. After seven days, his disciples opened the niche and saw that they were flushed and looked like life. They moved the flesh to the Buddhist temple for a long time, but the flesh was completely dry and no longer rotted. In the ravine on the right side of Lingshan Temple 1 km, there is a natural megalithic pedestal with a bagua shape and a flat top. It is said to be the Zen stone that Yang Zushi sat quietly.
