Taking poetry as a book and enjoying oneself is a portrayal of the standard of ancient intellectuals in China. It is often used to describe that as long as a person is well-read and knowledgeable, he will naturally show the elegance and demeanor of a scholar. This sentence shows high artistic attainments in both form and content, which is a famous sentence. A common source is Su Shi's Farewell to Dong Chuan. As follows:

A thick coat wraps a career,

My mind is full of poems and books.

Tired of cooking leaves with ancient Confucianism,

Step on Sophora japonica with strong hands.

An empty bag is not a spring horse.

Look at your husband's car.

Proud as the world,

Sun Wong's wet words are like crows.

(In the sixth year of Jiayou, Su Shi took the Chinese secondary school exam, which is usually called "three-year Beijing Examination", and got the third grade. Judge Dali was awarded, the book was signed by Fengxiang House, accompanied by Dong (who was very poor at that time), and he wrote this poem after returning to Chang 'an the following year. )

Another source is a so-called poem by Tao Yuanming:

The benevolent Leshan is picturesque,

A wise man enjoys water endlessly.

Have a glass of wine and take your time.

A cup of tea is simple.

A drizzling stone bridge,

Small bamboo raft with rippling spring breeze.

No bright moon, no flowers dancing alone at night,

My mind is full of poems and books.

Most materials believe that this famous sentence is from Su Shi's Farewell to Dongchuan, but few people think it is from Tao Yuanming. My personal opinion should still come from Su Shi. There are two reasons.

First of all, from the comparison of the two poems. Judging from the writing level, ideological content and many ancient books, it is clear that the former was written by Su Shi. Although the style of the second poem also wants to learn from Tao Yuanming's tranquil style, the writing level is obviously different from that of Tao Yuanming, which is obviously written by later generations in the name of Tao Yuanming.

Second: Tao Yuanming lived before Su Shi, so this sentence was really created by Tao Yuanming. Then Su Shi should not quote casually, even if he quotes, he will be pointed out by others. Therefore, on the other hand, it is proved that the latter part is not the original work of Tao Yuanming.

Fortunately, they didn't live at the same time. Fortunately, they didn't have the internet at that time. Fortunately, they don't need to hype themselves. If it were today, I'm afraid Su Ting and Ting Tao's fans would have been divided into two factions, taking turns to PK. Finally, there are three hundred rounds of war of words. I don't know if I can win or lose.
