Introduction to Damiao Mountain

The historic site on Damiao Mountain is Diaolong Terrace. According to legend, Yu Shan, King of Dongyue, once fished here, hence its name. The platform is 4 feet high and has 36 steps around it. More than a hundred people can sit on the platform. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, Cao Xuequan wrote a poem about the Dragon Fishing Platform: "The mountains and rivers originally belonged to the Yuewang Platform, and the river under the platform never came back. It was only because of the hundreds of dragons that fished first, that they came carrying the river with their scales." To the west of the platform is the Diaolong Well, with a diameter of 1.5 meters. The well is deep and the water is clear. According to folklore, it is called "Longquan" and can cure diseases. In the fourth year of Chunhua in the Song Dynasty (993), Diaolong Courtyard was built on the mountain, with Daguan Pavilion and Biguang Pavilion in the courtyard. Cai Xiang of the Song Dynasty wrote a poem for Daguan Pavilion. The poem goes: "The steep fishing dragon platform, with the flying pavilion pressing down on its end, is vast and boundless, hence the name Daguan." Shao Cheng of the Song Dynasty composed a poem for Biguang Pavilion, chanting: "The temple is at the top of the high platform, and a new pavilion will make you have a clear tour." There is a stone tablet on the mountain engraved with "The First Country in Fujian", which is a copy of the handwriting of Mi Fu, a famous calligrapher in the Song Dynasty; there are also the two characters "Nantai" written by Zhao Ruyu, a calligrapher of the Song Dynasty. In the third year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1370), the Fengyun Leiyu Mountain and River Altar was built on the mountain. In the west corner, the gods of Japan, Ryukyu and Balni mountains and rivers were worshipped. During the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty, Bai Rangqing of Luhe stayed in this mountain when he was visiting Fujian. He wrote a couplet: "Unloading the distant mountains and swallowing the Yangtze River, the bee-forested valleys in the southwest are particularly beautiful; I send off the setting sun, welcome the prime moon, and take my pillow in the wind and rain." It's cold."

In the 30th year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1850), the villagers raised funds to build the Minyue King Temple, and built the "Taijiang First Pavilion" next to it, and the "Rongyang Mountain Pavilion" was built to the right of the pavilion. , overlooking the distant mountains and the river, it can be called a scenic spot in the south of the city. The poet Chen Xueqiao wrote a couplet: "The forest air reflects the sky, the bamboo shadows are on the ground; the moon is as bright as day, and the river flows with sound." The poet Wu Meichen also wrote a couplet: "The windows are far away, and the sky is returning to the boat by mistake." In the 32nd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1906), Lin Bingzhang, the descendant of Lin Zexu, and others built the "Detox Society" on the mountain to oppose the sale of opium. In the 34th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1908), poets from the Taijiang area built a "Zhishe" on the mountain; in the 6th year of the Republic of China (1917), a poetry building was built. Chen Baochen is the official official of Zhishe. There are two banyan trees in front of the building, with old trunks and branches, so that the shadow of the sun cannot be seen. The poet Xiao Mengfu once wrote a couplet: "Two trees stand to listen to the Dharma, and white clouds linger in my arms." There is a couplet outside the poetry building: "A seat in the mountains and forests is used for singing and roaring, and thousands of families in the city are included in the painting." On the old wall in the south of the poetry building are three large bluestone steles, written by poets Chen Yan, Lin Cang and Tang Hanbo in the late Qing Dynasty, and famous calligraphers and seal carvers Hong Liang , Xiao Mengfu, and Chen Lianju each wrote a stele, which was included in the volume of "Fujian General Chronicle·Famous Places". There is the "Gualian Jingshe" behind the temple of the King of Minyue. The Fujian people hold the "Guolian Festival" in June to worship the King of Yue. This is a place for banquets and rests. There is a small pond in front and a fishing dragon well next to it. It is surrounded by flowers and rocks, which is quite secluded. There is a couplet that says: "The melon, rain and lotus pond are on the upper shelf, and the willow smoke and plum moon are on the edge of the well."

On the top of Longling Mountain at the foot of Damiao Mountain, there are two newly engraved couplets: one is "The rivers and ponds are endlessly green, and the pavilions are red with ease"; the other is "The dragon soars and the huge waves open a new game, the mountains span Changhong becomes a smooth road." The words "Taijiang" and "Longling" are embedded respectively. These two couplets were written by contemporary poets Liu Changqing and Chen Juanyin. There is a stone on the top of the mountain. Legend has it that it is a meteorite that fell from the sky. In the old days, on every ninth day of the ninth lunar month, many tourists came here to climb up and play. In 1990, the inscriptions on Damiao Mountain and the old sites of "Quedu Society" and "Zhi Society" were still there, but the temple and other buildings no longer existed.
