What are the characteristics of quatrains?

According to the number of words in each sentence, quatrains can be divided into five-character quatrains, six-character quatrains and seven-character quatrains. Pay attention to even and even words with strict rhymes, with more five-character quatrains, seven-character quatrains and relatively few six-character quatrains. The representative poets of quatrains are Li Bai and Wang Changling, and their representative works include The First Building of Baidicheng and Ascending the Yellow Crane Tower.

Historical origin:

Jueju originated from Yuefu short chapters in the Han, Wei and Six Dynasties, also known as sentence-cutting, sentence-breaking, short sentences and poems. This kind of concept poem is naturally formed. During the Han and Wei dynasties, there were few poems with four sentences as the whole, so it is not necessary to define four-character poems as poetry nouns, that is, four-character poems have not yet formed norms. But in a long poem, the creative method of four sentences and one is definitely formed. After Jin and Song Dynasties, due to the influence of folk elements, poets liked to imitate four folk songs, and four poems in five words appeared. After the Qi and Liang Dynasties, four sentences and one sentence were called the norms of poetry, and they were named "Jue".

Form:

According to the strict degree of metrical requirements, it can be divided into two categories: absolute and ancient.

1, rhyme with rhyme. According to the characteristics of rhyme, pay attention to fluency and neatness.

2. Ancient quatrains, that is, ancient quatrains, are a kind of quatrains opposite to metrical quatrains. Although it rhymes, it is relatively free, or it can be said that some poets don't want to be bound by meter.

However, the boundary between the ancient and the law is not very clear, because after the rise of legal poetry, even if it is written in ancient times, it is impossible to be completely unaffected by legal sentences.
