What is the first spring in the world?

China's tea drinking culture is closely related to "Cha Sheng" Lu Yu. He traveled around the world, carefully tasted the world-famous springs and ranked them according to their tastes. It is said that he discharged 20 springs. Lu Yu named Gulian Spring in Lushan Mountain, Jiangxi Province as "the first spring in the world".

After Lu Yu, there are many people ranking springs in the world, and everyone has certain objective standards, so today there are as many as four places called "the first spring in the world".

Gulian Spring, which is listed as the "No.1 spring in the world" by Lu Yu, is considered to have eight advantages in Kangwang Valley, south of Daxing Yangfeng in Lushan Mountain, Jiangxi Province, namely, clear, cold, fragrant, soft, sweet, clean, non-choking and disease prevention. Wang Yucheng said in the preface to Gulian Spring that Gulian Spring has been delivered for more than a month, and the taste of water has not changed so far; Take boiling tea as an example, its steam is like a cloud covering the snow, which is completely different from Seisensui.

Zhongqingquan is located at the foot of Shidan Mountain, west of Jinshan in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. On the stone column in Chi Pan, there are five characters inscribed by Wang Renkan in Qing Dynasty. This spring was once listed as the seventh spring in the world by Lu Yu. Later, Liu Bozhou named it "the first spring in the world" according to its unique advantages. Zhong Ling Spring, also known as Zhongmang Spring, is clear and sweet. Boiling water is injected into the cup, which can be higher than the mouth of the cup without overflowing.

In the Tang and Song Dynasties, the spring in Zhong Ling was still in the Yangtze River. To draw the spring water, you must hang the copper bottle with a lid from the spring water at two o'clock and noon every day, and quickly open the lid to draw the Zhong Ling spring water.

Lu You, a poet in the Song Dynasty, wrote a poem "Spring water is hard to pump": "The copper bottle is full of sorrow, but ninety cups of tea mountain are not seen. Later, because the Yangtze River trunk line moved northward, Jinshan was connected with the south bank, and Zhongqingquan moved to land.

Yuquan in Beijing is located in Yuquan Mountain in the west of the Summer Palace, so there are springs everywhere, hence the name Yuquan Mountain. Yuquan spring water is clear and blue, clear as jade, spewing out from the stone carving Longkou, as white as snow, and was once named "Spray Yuquan".

"Yuquan Hanging Rainbow" was once one of the "Eight Scenes of Yanjing". Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty built a Jingming Garden on Yuquan Mountain, which affected the geographical environment of Yuquan Mountain and made the spring water like a rainbow "like a pearl", so Emperor Qianlong renamed it "Yuquan Tu Tu". Yuquan has excellent water quality. The tea brewed with this spring water has good color, fragrance and taste.

Emperor Qianlong took water from the famous spring in China and identified it with a special silver bucket. As a result, Yuquan Spring has the lightest water quality, the least impurities and the best water quality, so it is named "the first spring in the world". He also wrote "The First Spring in the Forbidden City", in which "the virtue of water lies in nurturing people, its taste is expensive and sweet, and its quality is expensive and light. I am called spring, which is the best in the world. 」

The drinking water of the imperial palace in the Qing Dynasty was taken from Yuquan. Every morning, a water tanker brought water from Xizhimen into the city with a dragon flag in it, so Xizhimen in Beijing was called the "Watergate".

Baotu Spring is located in Jinan, Shandong Province. In the Ming Dynasty, Guanlan Pavilion was built beside the spring, a stone tablet was erected, and Guanlan and the first spring were carved.
