The fisherman rests on the western hills at night, learns the clear water in the morning, and cooks for firewood.
The sun disappears like a cloud, and the sound of sculls comes from green mountains and green waters.
Looking back, the fishing boat has drifted below the horizon, and white clouds are floating in the mountains, chasing each other.

In the evening, the fisherman anchored his boat at the foot of the western hills. At dawn, he picked up the clear water of Xiangjiang River and lit Chu Zhuxiang.
When the sun rose, he disappeared; I heard a loud noise, and suddenly I saw mountains and green water.
Looking back, he has sailed to the center of the sky; On the top of the rock, only unintentional white clouds chase each other.

This is a lyric poem written by Liu Zongyuan when he was demoted to Yongzhou, which is meaningful and poetic. This detached fisherman image described in the poem entrusts the poet's own contempt and rejection of fame and fortune. Therefore, the elegant and quiet life shown by this fisherman has become an artistic portrayal of the poet himself to some extent. The whole poem is full of scenes and distinct levels, like a freehand pastel painting, which is presented to us: fishermen spend the night in Xiyan, drink the shore in the morning, draw water from Hunan and burn bamboo in Chu, so they can enjoy themselves without competing with the world, and how generous nature's reward is. At sunrise, the river peaks, the smoke disappears, the fisherman dies and the river surface is empty; As the poet stared, there came a kind fishing song of "Yi Nai", which suddenly floated gently from the green mountains and green waters. This fisherman and this endless fishing song, surrounded by this landscape, condensed into a harmonious whole, vividly showing a beautiful realm. In sharp contrast with the ugly reality, the purification of natural beauty reflects the poet's dissatisfaction and hatred for the deception of feudal officialdom. Therefore, the use of Tao Yuanming's words in the last two sentences of the poem not only adds a bit of interest to this freehand painting, but also further expresses the poet's yearning for free life through "singing and fishing, looking at the blue sky and white clouds" (the second book with Yang Hui). The poet had progressive political thoughts, but in order to realize this ideal, he was driven away. "Storm falls and Wan Li dies" ("Ran Xi") can't be mental pain. Therefore, it is understandable that the poet used the noble and leisurely feelings of fishermen on the river to soothe his lonely and miserable mood.
