Xu Wei's poem "The Grape Map"

Xu Wei

Half-life down and out has become an Weng, and the independent study is whistling in the evening breeze.

There is no place to sell the pearl at the bottom of the pen, so it is thrown into the wild vines.

is a down-and-out but wild poet. In the first sentence, the word "down and out" indicates that he is down and out, the word "independence" and "evening breeze" indicates his loneliness in his later years, and the word "study" and "Xiao" indicates the poet's arrogant and unrestrained personality.

During Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Lei Mingyang, who lived in a private residence, built three exquisite mountain pavilions from bottom to top on the Nanshan Mountain behind Jingzhong Temple. The history is called Ming Yang San Ting. After the pavilion was built, there was no plaque for its title. I want to invite a well-read celebrity to write the names of three pavilions according to the transformation of mountains and landscapes. Lei Mingyang thought of Xu Wei, a talented person in Huiji Shanyin.

Xu Wei didn't live up to high expectations. After a hard day's work, he wrote three plaques for Mingyang Pavilion, namely "Dicui Pavilion", "Yixin Pavilion" and "Guanchao Pavilion". Seeing the sunset glow and the day was getting late, he spent the night in Jingzhong Temple. Having nothing to do, Xu Wei wants to play a game with the abbot. As soon as he stepped into the abbot's room, a picture of ink grapes hanging on the wall attracted him. He watched it carefully and made a careful guess. He felt that the picture was full of gods and shapes, and it was as lifelike as it is today. It was difficult for a master to draw it, but it was such a beautiful picture. Why didn't it have an inscription? Xu Wei was very puzzled and asked the abbot. The abbot explained: This is the legacy of Master Zhiyuan, the founder of our temple. Because he loved his wild vine grapes all his life and was good at painting, he left this picture and became a treasure handed down from generation to generation in this temple. As for the fact that there is no inscription, the ancestors had a last word. Anyone who can see this painting must be a well-read person. Please inscribe it, and don't doodle with it, so as not to pollute the picture. Therefore, for many years, no one dared to write an inscription for this picture. "Oh, so that's it!" Xu Wei said with relief. The abbot added: The benefactor is a brilliant scholar of Daming, and I have heard about it for a long time. It's a great honor for me to visit our temple today. I urge the benefactor to add color to the legacy of our ancestors. The poem inscription is not only an honor to our temple, but also a legacy of our ancestors. Please don't turn it down. Seeing that the abbot was sincere, Xu Wei had to do it.

Xu Wei is full of literary talents, but he is like a pearl in the land. He has only failed in talent, frustrated in his official career, and has a rough life. For example, he is in his fifties this year, and he is still wandering from place to place ... Thinking of this, he can't help but feel sad. This sad poem, Xu Wei from the bottom of my heart issued a world of injustice, ambition is hard to pay the sigh of the times! "Pearl" refers to grapes, and the author has nowhere to sell grape paintings, expressing his infinite feelings of being unappreciated, unfulfilled and lonely.
