Phoenix poem

The poem of Phoenix is as follows:

1. Feng Xi Feng Xi returned to his hometown and traveled all over the world to seek his death.

translation:

Phoenix bird, Phoenix bird, has returned to his hometown, and his whereabouts are uncertain. He only visits the world to seek the phoenix bird in his heart.

Appreciation:

This is a qinqu, which comes from Wang Shifu's The West Chamber. It is roughly equivalent to "ah (a)" in modern Chinese.

soar: spread your wings and fly in a roundabout way. Four seas: refers to the world and all parts of the country. Seeking to burn: a metaphor for a man's courtship.

2. Phoenix Tour on the Huangtai, have abandoned it now to this desolate river.

Translation:

Li Bai's use of "Phoenix Terrace" is not a general expression of his feelings when he boarded the plane, but something else. Since ancient times, the phoenix has always been regarded as auspicious, and it is related to the development of society: in a beautiful time, the phoenix bird descended from the sky, making a sound of nature. Therefore, the appearance of phoenix birds mostly shows the meaning of praise.

however, Li Bai first points out the phoenix here, but it is just the opposite: what he expresses is the infinite emotion generated by prosperity and perishable, and the sacred time is difficult to exist, only the eternal landscape. The Yuanjia era, which attracted the phoenix, has passed forever, and the prosperous Six Dynasties have also passed forever, leaving only the vast waters of the Yangtze River and the towering Phoenix Mountain.

Appreciation:

This poem comes from on climbing in nanjing to the terrace of phoenixes written by Li Bai in the Tang Dynasty. Li Bai started with the legend of Phoenix Tower to express his feelings about the changes of time and space. "phoenixes that played here once, so that the place was named for them, have abandoned it now to this desolate river" is natural, lively and smooth; Although three "phoenix" words are used in fourteen words, they do not make people think they are repetitive at all, and there is no such rigid and blunt problem as common poems. Phoenix Terrace is located in the southwest of the old Jinling City.

3. Where the old mirror bears, the old phoenix does not live.

Translation:

Old mirrors can't keep the figure of husband and wife; The withered phoenix tree can't attract the phoenix to live.

Appreciation: Li Shangyin described these meetings, although he was full of lust and bravery, but he was also afraid of leaving evidence, and his writing was subtle. It implies that the couple have fallen in love with a better poet (that is, Li Shangyin himself).
