Cen Shen came to Beiting at the turn of summer and autumn in the thirteenth year of Emperor Xuanzong's Tianbao reign (754), and to the East at the turn of spring and summer in the second year of Emperor Suzong's reign (757). Return, this poem is regarded as this issue. At that time, there were frequent wars in the northwest frontier area. Cen Shen, with the ambition to make achievements outside the Great Wall, went to the Great Wall once or twice.
