Bai Juyi's Song of Eternal Sorrow expresses the corruption of the fatuous court in his later years.

Bai Juyi's poem "Song of Eternal Sorrow" satirizes the fatuity and corruption of Tang Xuanzong in his later years: all his sisters and brothers are in the soil, and because of her, she illuminates and glorifies her clan. When a girl is born instead of a boy, she brings happiness to every father and mother in the empire.

Sisters are wives, brothers are officials, and land is rewarded. Yang's portal is brilliant, enviable and desirable. Parents all over the world have changed their minds. Everyone just wants to have a little daughter when they watch the boy commit suicide.

This is China's famous long narrative poem.

This poem was written by Yu Xianzong, a poet, who visited the temple in December of the first year of Yuan Dynasty (806). He felt the love story between Tang and Yang Guifei and referred to legends and anecdotes.

Through the narrative of the tortuous love story between Tang and Yang Guifei, the poem praises the sincerity and singleness of love and expresses deep sympathy for the love tragedy.

The poet broke through the traditional concept and blamed the curse of An Shi Rebellion and the cause of love tragedy on the "heavy color" of Tang Dynasty. As the pursuer and destroyer of love, Tang created the "long hatred" of the two protagonists.
