Wufeng Mountain is located in Wufeng Township, Huzhu County, Qinghai Province. It is 40 kilometers away from Xining and 280 meters above sea level. It is named after the five towering peaks. The mountain is covered with pine, poplar and a lot of shrubs. Between spring and summer, the mountains are green, and after autumn, the colors are mottled and pleasing to the eye. There are three caves on the mountainside, including a path. There is Chenghua spring under the cave. The spring water flows down from the mountainside along the stone wall, forming a waterfall, which is a major landscape of Wufeng Mountain. There is Wufeng Temple on the mountain. This is one of the famous temples. A flower show is held every year on the sixth day of the sixth lunar month, which is a traditional cultural and recreational activity with national characteristics.
Wufeng Temple is called Wufeng Mountain because the peaks here look like five fingers. Once one of the eight scenic spots in Huangzhong, it is still a famous scenic spot in Qinghai Province. Founded in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, its buildings mainly include Bodhisattva Hall, Dragon King Pavilion, Jade Hall, Xianggong Building, Minsheng Pavilion and Le Tong Pavilion. It was destroyed by ten years of civil strife. Since 1979, the local government has renovated it with paint, making it look brand-new and listing it as an important tourist area.
The main scenery of Wufeng Mountain is three forests, three caves and three springs. The third forest is pine forest, poplar forest and birch forest. In summer, Lin Yuyu is lush everywhere. In autumn, the leaves of pine, poplar and birch are red, and the layers of forest are dyed, each with its own characteristics. These three caves are East Cave, West Cave and North Cave. The cave is cold and covered with moss, which has a unique charm. Sanjie Springs are Dragon Palace Springs, Hidden Springs and Cracked Springs. Of the three springs, Longgong Spring has the best water quality. Spring water gushed from the stone carving dragon mouth and poured down the seven-level stone wall, forming a waterfall and splashing the mountain road. Around the spring stone, there are quieter mountains and quieter forests, endless songs on the earth, birds singing and flowers fragrant, long flowing springs and other poems.
Climbing up the stairs from Longgong Spring is Wufeng Temple. Wufeng Temple was built in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. Its main buildings are Bodhisattva Hall, Longwang Pavilion, Jade Hall, Xianggong Building and Letong Pavilion. Recently, pavilions and newly painted colors have attracted more tourists' attention.
Wufeng Mountain is also a scenic spot for singing Qinghai folk songs, commonly known as Flower Festival. June 6th every year is the most beautiful season in Wufeng Mountain, and the June 6th Flower Festival in Wufeng Mountain is also very famous. At that time, singers from all walks of life in the northwest gathered in Wufeng Mountain, singing loudly and shaking Shan Ye, singing from dawn until late at night, singing fairy tales in Wufeng Mountain in June, and searching for bosom friends in eight townships and four fields. Such a large-scale mass art activity has added luster to the Five Peaks.
