In order to promote the art of guqin, he organized Qingxi Qinshe in Nanjing, Zhongzhou Qinshe in Kaifeng and Qintian Qinshe in Chongqing. He made, taught and studied guqin, and made 50 pieces all over the country. In 35 years, he returned to Hangzhou, arranged the "Banjiao Mountain House" under the Leifeng Pagoda of the West Lake, and organized the "West Lake Monthly Meeting" with Ma Yifu, Zhang Zongxiang and Xu Yingpu to discuss calligraphy, piano, chess and epigraphy.
In terms of playing skills, he inherited the unrestrained characteristics of Zhejiang School, which were "subtle, wonderful, mellow and fluent", and formed his own unique style, which was simple and elegant, rich and deep, fluent and vigorous, and good at cadence, and was called "the representative of modern Zhejiang violinist".
He has played many piano music, the most famous of which are Mountain, Mourning of Mozi, Xiaoxiang and Qiu Jiang. He also composed piano works, such as Xi Ling Hua and, which has been recorded by the Central Conservatory of Music. Some pieces of Qin music were arranged into a staff by Mr. Xu Jian and published in the first episode of Guqin Music Collection.
He is also proficient in poetry and calligraphy, and is the king of calligraphy. He took part in Dong Qichang's calligraphy and used his own method to do it, which impressed him deeply. Painters are good at painting landscapes, especially orchids. They are all opened in large quantities, and the ink is overflowing, fresh and elegant.
He once adapted the pipa music "Sorrow for Yan Hui" handed down by his father into piano music, published it in today's Qin Yu magazine, and wrote a volume "Tianfengqinpu". He contributed to the promotion and development of Guqin art and the cultivation of Guqin talents all his life.
