1. Mother! Put aside your sorrow and let me indulge in your arms. Only you are the settlement of my soul.
2. Mother! My hair, draped on your knees, is the thousands of soft silks you gave me.
"Stars" and "Spring Water" were written by Bing Xin and published in 2013. They are his two most proud poetry collections and are recognized as the highest achievement of short poems. These two collections of poems were inspired by Tagore's "Birds" and Bing Xin collected some "fragmented thoughts" into one collection of poems.
"Stars" contains 164 short poems, while "Spring Water" contains 182 short poems. The themes of these two poetry collections are maternal love, innocence, and nature. While praising family affection, maternal love and childlike innocence, Bing Xin also expressed the distress of herself and the young intellectuals of her generation in her poems.
