In the middle of the Western Zhou Dynasty, Mu Wang met the vassals in Tushan (now southeast of Huaiyuan, Anhui), which was called Tushan Conference. During the Spring and Autumn Period, the regime was transferred from the King of Zhou to the vassal states, and some things happened between the vassal states, with which the monarch negotiated. For example, 56 1 year ago, Wei Xiao (now southeast of Kaocheng, Henan Province) was joined with six monarchs, and a treaty was concluded, which consolidated the system of first wife and eldest son, and developed the economic relations between the states of Hou. In the late Spring and Autumn Period, doctor dictatorship appeared in some states, and meetings between some states were presided over by doctors. For example, in May17, doctors from nine countries, such as Yang, negotiated in Huangfu (now northwest of Bishui, Shanxi Province). As a result, Zhou Tianzi was driven out of the city the following year and sent King Jing back to Beijing.
From the late Western Zhou Dynasty to the Spring and Autumn Period, the hierarchical relationship within the nobility was often adjusted and consolidated through vows. There is a certain ceremony for taking an oath: the oath taker first chisels the ground into a ridge (hole), sacrifices it to cattle, sheep or horses, cuts off the left ear and holds it in a plate to collect its blood. Read the book of alliance (called book in ancient times) to tell the gods, and then take an oath to drink blood. At the end of the bloody battle, the original of the franchise contract was buried during the sacrifice, and the copy was collected by the alliance.
At the end of the Western Zhou Dynasty, Zhou Youwang called the vassal states to form an alliance in Taishi (now Songshan, Dengfeng, Henan), which was called the alliance of Taishi, and it was an example of Zhou Wang's pledge with the vassal states. There are many vows in the Spring and Autumn Period:
(1) the oath between Hou Guo. There are also alliances among monarchs, such as the "practical land alliance" in which nine monarchs, including Qi and Lu, participated in the hegemony in 632. There is an alliance between doctors. For example, in 546, doctors from the State of Jin and the State of Chu signed a truce in the State of Song.
The monarch and the doctor vowed. For example, in 543, Dr. Zheng's rebellion, Jane and the doctor formed an alliance in Huan Gong Temple, which was sealed first.
(3) Doctors in Hou swear to each other. For example, in 548 BC, the doctor of Qi killed Zhuang Gong and made an alliance with the doctor in the Taigong Temple.
(4) The doctor takes an oath within the clan.
