"Bodhisattva Barbarian: Asking the Lord Why It's So Easy to Say Parting" is a lyric work created by Nalan Xingde, a poet in the Qing Dynasty. The first part of the film starts with a question and continues with the sentence "How many full moons can there be in a year?" The feeling of sadness and regret that there will be more separation and less time can be seen. The other two sentences are about the bitter regret that although spring is over, we still can't return home to reunite. The next part points out the reason for "not being able to return", that is, the guards follow the patrol and cannot help themselves. The two sentences at the end describe the state of mind at this time, that is, recalling the past is chilling, just like the cold waves of the Songhua River in front of you, unable to calm down. This reveals the feeling of being disgusted with being a slave, which is often expressed in some of Nalan's words.
