Let's take stock of the differences between the two plays.
First, the service road
Empresses in the Palace Zhongguang, the headdress of Empress Hua Fei, is worth thousands of dollars. It is a genuine cultural relic, which reflects the crew's care in costumes.
The clothes, colors, patterns and materials of the queens in each palace have been carefully studied. Even the clothes of Zhen Xuan's "Saixixi" Jin Shu can be compared with Guo Ziyu County's first discussion on "Saixixi", so they can stand the scrutiny of various analysts since 10.
In contrast, the costumes in The Legend of Mi Yue were criticized by the audience for their bright colors. It is believed that there was no such good dyeing technology in pre-Qin period.
Although it has been found in the archaeology of terracotta warriors and horses that there are more than a dozen dyed tones in the Qin Dynasty, their saturation and brightness should not be as bright as those in TV dramas.
Second, lines
Empresses in the Palace's lines imitate the way of speaking in A Dream of Red Mansions, which is also a highly appreciated feature of the novel.
As a court drama of the Qing Dynasty, it can be loaded with many famous sentences since the Tang and Song Dynasties, which is more cultural in TV dramas.
The lines in the play are personally checked by director Zheng Xiaolong, which is a nuanced and memorable story.
In contrast, the lines in The Legend of Mi Yue are slightly rough. Moreover, people who spoke more than 2000 years ago are of course closer to us than those who spoke more than 200 years ago. Therefore, if the lines in The Legend of Mi Yue are too close to the modern way of speaking, they will accidentally step on the thunder.
In the aspect of quoting poems, there are few works in the pre-Qin period, and the Book of Songs is too far away from the general audience, which naturally suffers.
As a TV series, there are commercial considerations, time constraints and cultural shortcomings. What is filmed is naturally not as accurate as a documentary, and the lines are naturally sad. There are few elegant lines like Empresses in the Palace.
Third, the script is designed by people.
Empresses in the Palace and The Legend of Mi Yue were both written by women. From the beginning, the innocent and lovely little white rabbit was persecuted all the way and had to be blackened into a big devil. When Empresses in the Palace is a great success, people from all walks of life will naturally strike while the iron is hot.
At the same time, the audience's expectations have always been high, so once the crew can't shoot a work with a score much higher than the front page, it will be considered a failure.
In particular, Shi Qibazi, a historical figure and Zhu Yu, a quiet figure in the trilogy of Qin Empire, are at the forefront. Therefore, it is very difficult to win overall in personnel design and plot and defeat two classic TV dramas at the same time.
Of course, compared with the plots of The Legend of Mi Yue and Empresses in the Palace, many viewers prefer The Legend of Mi Yue, because Empresses in the Palace really has a dense harem, and almost touched many things of the previous dynasty. On the other hand, The Legend of Mi Yue is almost a scene of the imperial harem, which satisfies many audiences who are expecting a big pattern.
