The owner of Furong Mountain is in every snow.
Author: Liu Changqing years: Tang Dynasty
The setting sun is far away, the weather is cold and the house is poor.
Chai Men heard dogs barking and went home on a snowy night.
Lord of Furong Mountain on a Snowy Night is a five-character quatrain written by Liu Changqing, a poet in the Tang Dynasty. This poem depicts a picture of returning home on a snowy night. The first two sentences, what the poet saw and felt in the mountain village. The last two sentences describe the poet after living in his master's house. The language of the whole poem is unpretentious, picturesque and simple and profound.
There have always been different opinions on the wording, sentence formation and artistic conception of this poem. On the surface, this poem looks like a word "Ming", but in fact it is concise, implicit and not revealing, "Love is in the scenery, things are in the scenery", but feelings are not directly expressed and things are unknown, which brings difficulties to interpretation, ambiguity and multiple explanations are inevitable.
About an autumn from the eighth year of Dali (773) to the twelfth year of Dali (777), Liu Changqing was framed and convicted by the observation of Hubei and Yue for the advice of Miao Pi Jing, and was demoted to Sima. The Lord of Hibiscus Mountain in the Snow House is about the severe winter, which should be after being demoted. The first half seems to say that I am cornered and hope to get a piece of pure land. However, in the cold reality, there is no place for him. In the second half of the song, I met Miao Pi, the savior, in a seemingly hopeless way, which brought me a little light to breathe, and of course included infinite gratitude. From this perspective, this poem is not only a beautiful picture of a snowy night, but also reflects the bitterness of the poet's political career.
