Zhou Gongshan was called Caishan in ancient times. According to the "Zhuge Liang Collection" quoted from "Nanzhong Zhi": "Cai Mountain is five miles east of Yazhou City. Wu Hou passed here when he was conquering the southwestern Yi, and he dreamed of Zhou Gong, so it was named Zhou Gong Mountain; because it was named the Wenxian King Temple, it was restored The imperial edict also cites "Shu Zhi" records: "There is Zhou Gong Mountain in Yazhou. It is said that Kong Ming dreamed of Zhou Gong here, so he built the temple as Wenxian Temple and named it Zhou Gong Mountain." It also quoted from Volume 7 of "Taiping Huanyu Ji". Record 17: "Zhougong Mountain is located on the southeast side of Yandao County (Yandao County within the borders of Ya'an City in the Tang Dynasty). It is a towering mountain with a dragon's cave on it and often cloudy. An elder said: 'In the past, Zhuge Liang was conquering the south. I dreamed about this. Zhou Gong then built a temple. "In the sixth year of Qiande in Puppet Shu, the temple was built." According to these records, Zhou Gong Mountain should be the place where Zhuge Liang passed through during his southern expedition.
Zhougong Mountain has gradually become a famous historical mountain in China since the Han and Tang Dynasties. It has many temples, ancient buildings and beautiful scenery. There are the ruins of the Zhougong Temple on the top of the mountain, and there is Qingcheng Temple at the foot of the mountain. There are many cliff inscriptions by famous people from all over the mountain, and the historical and cultural atmosphere is quite strong. There is also an ancient scene of dragon cave stone blooming on the mountain, which is the "Dragon Cave" historical site recorded in "Taiping Huanyu Ji". Zhougong Mountain has been designated as a forest park and is a well-known tourist attraction.
According to the "Book of Mountains and Seas", it is a famous mountain where Dayu traveled to control floods. It is said that when Zhuge Liang of the Shu Han Dynasty of the Three Kingdoms was on his southern expedition, he dreamed of Duke Zhou giving him advice at night at the foot of the mountain. As a result, he won the battle and renamed Zhou Gong Mountain. From the Han and Tang Dynasties to the Qing Dynasty, many temples were built on the mountains, and famous mountain and ancient temples have always attracted tourists. There are now the ruins of the Zhougong Temple on the top of the mountain. The "Bagua Stone" used to pray for rain and sunshine from the Han Dynasty, as well as stone temples, stone beasts, and stone squares from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, etc. are left behind. The calligraphy stone carvings of celebrities from past dynasties are left on the cliffs, rocks and stone tablets. There are also cultural landscapes such as Qingcheng Temple at the foot of the mountain. Zhougong Mountain has always been known as the climate sign of "foggy top with rain, fog scattered sky and clear sky", so it is called "Ya'an Barometer". As the climate changes with clouds, rain, fog, and sunshine, the mountains, deep ravines, forests, and flowing water also change in various forms. Thousands of acres of artificial forest on the mountainside are lush and green. At the foot of the mountain, the Zhougong River lingers like a jade belt. The river's specialty "Bing Cave Fish", also known as "Ya Fish", is well-known in ancient times and modern times. Du Fu, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, recited a poem that said "Fish know the origin and beauty of Bing Cave".
