China's classical poetry is enduring with its unique charm and dazzling in the history of Chinese and foreign literature. The core reason of this charm is its own unique creative law, namely beat and rhythm. Follow the law and rhythm to make the language of ancient poetry more concise, artistic conception more beautiful, musical sense more intense and more popular. This is also the fundamental reason why China's classical poetry is far more popular than modern poetry. Therefore, since I like it and want to write classical poetry, I can't do without meter and rhythm.
There is still controversy in academic circles about the inheritance and sublation of ancient poetry meter, and there is no conclusion yet. We should not be influenced by these academic discussions. Before the country introduces new regulations, we can only follow the old rules. Otherwise, no matter how good the content of your work is, it will not be recognized because of prosodic defects.
In order to help you learn and master the relevant knowledge of China's classical poetry, I recommend several websites of teaching materials in the attachment of this article, which you can download for later use. Among them, An Introduction to Poetic Rhythm and Twenty-eight Forms of Pingze Poems are specially written for classical metrical poems. The inspiration of rhythm, smooth rhyme and entering tone vocabulary are all suitable for writing poetry. The introduction to lyrics specifically introduces how to write lyrics. Bai Xiang Ci Pu and Tang Song Ci Yun always list the rhymes and rhymes of more than 250 epigrams, taking the representative works of ancient famous artists as examples. The above content should be enough for beginners.
The specific contents of the meter and rhythm of ancient poetry are in the above materials, so I won't go into details. Here I just briefly talk about my experience in the introductory process for your reference.
The first is to define the category of leveling. Generally speaking, the first sound (Gu Yinping) and the second sound (Gu Yangping) in modern Chinese Pinyin are flat and muddy characters that do not belong to the ancient entering tone characters; In modern Chinese Pinyin, the characters of the third (ancient rising sound) and the fourth (ancient falling sound) are homophonic characters; In ancient times, Rusheng characters (all the first sounds in modern Chinese) belonged to Nuo characters.
The second is diligent in comparison. Writing ancient poems can't completely follow the pronunciation habits of modern people. In order to make full use of the phonetic alphabet, it is required to use the flat phonetic characters in the poetry spectrum to avoid entering the phonetic characters first. In some areas where Mandarin is not a dialect, such as the south, we should also be careful not to take the local dialect as the standard (for example, "Xie" and "Xie"). The pronunciation of dialects in many areas is far from that of Mandarin.
The third is to strengthen language tempering. Poetry that conforms to the rhythm is not necessarily the top grade. Whether poetry is a household name and has artistic vitality mainly depends on the use of language. Artistic conception, interest, sense of music and the implication or philosophy of life that gives people endless aftertaste all come from concise language. Of course, don't ignore the importance of the conception link. The idea is not clever, and even the best language is useless. I suggest that you make proper precipitation on the newly written works, be more skeptical, make more revisions, and listen to more opposing opinions.
The fourth is to use the inspection platform. I suggest that you publish your own ancient poetry works in the "poetic charm" column of the website "Tea adds fragrance". There, all submitted works are reviewed by prosody first, and only those that meet prosody requirements can be published, otherwise they will all be returned. Try it there, experience the pain of failure and the joy of success, and you will definitely make great progress. My introduction to the rhythm of ancient poetry was accomplished by adding fragrance to tea.
The above is my personal view on the creation of classical poetry, for your reference only. I don't know much, frog in the well, limited level. If there is any mistake, please take the correct statement as the standard.
