Extended information:
The word "花" (hua) was written in the oracle bones of the Shang Dynasty, which expresses the shape of blooming flowers and lush branches and leaves. Hui, Xu Shen's "Shuowen Jiezi" of the Han Dynasty said: "Hui, the general name of grass." When the two words "hua" and "hui" are used together, they appear later. During the Northern and Southern Dynasties, "Book of Liang He Dian Zhuan" records: "There is Bian Zhongzhen in the garden, and flowers are planted on the side of the garden." This is an earlier description of the combination of the two words "hua" and "hui".
Flowers are the reproductive organs of angiosperms for reproduction. A typical flower has a calyx, corolla, and stamens and pistils that produce reproductive cells on a short axis of limited growth. Some scholars believe that the sporophyll balls of gymnosperms are also "flowers", while most people believe that only angiosperms have flowers, so angiosperms are also called flowering plants.
The various parts of the flower are not easily affected by the external environment and change little. Therefore, for a long time, people have used the morphological structure of the flower as the main basis for the classification, identification and systematic evolution of angiosperms. Most literary scholars use flowers as medium and vines as branches to describe the meaning of flowers.
