Brief introduction of Tongnan Buddha Temple
Tongnan Buddha Temple is located at the foot of Dingming Mountain, one kilometer west of Tongnan District, Chongqing. Founded in Tang Xianzong (860-873), it was originally named "Mingyuan", also known as "nanzenji". Later, due to the Song Dynasty, a giant Buddha was carved in the temple on the mountain, and it was renamed "Big Buddha Temple". The Great Buddha Temple is a national key cultural relic protection unit, with rich tourism resources and profound cultural heritage. There are not only the seventh and largest indoor gold Mo Yan Buddha in the world, the earliest all-glazed tile-roofed ancient building "Seven-eaves Buddha Pavilion", the sound of the Shiqin, one of the four echo buildings in China, the word "Buddha" in Mo Yan's largest carving calligraphy in China, and the rare natural echo wall "Tide Sound" and other scenic spots 18, but also preserved in the Sui Dynasty, flourished in the Tang and Song Dynasties and continued to this day. There are also inscriptions, couplets, inscriptions and inscriptions written by scholars and courtiers in past dynasties, which have extremely high historical, artistic and scientific value and are precious historical and cultural heritage. 1In August, 956, the Great Buddha Temple in Tongnan, Chongqing was designated as the first batch of provincial-level key protected cultural relics. 1999, named Chongqing Scenic Area; In 2006, it was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council; August 20 10, the national AAA(3A) scenic spot was successfully established. On September 20 14, the Great Buddha Temple in Tongnan, Chongqing was officially approved as a national AAAA(4A) scenic spot by the National Tourism Administration.
