Bai Lu, whose real name is He Jinrong, was born in Taichung City in 1937, and graduated from Taichung Commercial Senior Department in 1956. In 1953, he began to publish poems in Blue Star Weekly.
I used to be a colleague of "Modern" and "Blue Star" and the editorial board of Genesis Poetry. In 1964, he was one of the founders of "Li" and won many poetry awards. His published poetry collections include: Death of a Moth, Rose in the Wind, Symbol of the Sky, Selected Poems of Bai Lu, chansons, Poetry Square, Feeling the Existence of a Tree Only when the Wind Blows, Self-love, Observing Images, etc. The collection of poetic theories includes "Essays on Modern Poetry". Bai Lv is a brave pursuer and explorer on the road of poetry. His pursuit is manifested in his constant exploration of life. The social consciousness and critical consciousness of poetry are constantly enhanced and strengthened. As well as the innovation of artistic forms and the richness of expression techniques. He said: "We need to twist, hammer, stretch, squeeze and crush our language in various ways. To what extent can we bear the language on which we think and express. What matters is spirit, not feeling. ..... We demand that every image can load our thoughts, otherwise, we will not hesitate to discard it, or even expel all adjectives from the poem, and stare at you naked. I still want to wander, wandering my life in poetry, and I will never place myself at a fixed point. My journey is my purpose. There is nothing on the horizon, and I will go to it. " Bai Lv here not only shows that he is a constant pursuer and innovator of art, but also a poet who pays great attention to the expression of the theme of poetry. He wants to make every image load the poet's thoughts, and never let any image in the poem be idle. Therefore, Bai Lu's wandering is the pursuit; Is to explore. He will never place himself at a fixed point, but he will keep exploring all his life. Bai Lv has a poem "Wanderer", which shows his never-ending pursuit of progress in the form of image poetry. Bai Lu also has a poem "Wild Goose", which is also the theme describing the wild geese's pursuit of progress towards the expanding and magnifying ideal. Pursuit, exploration and innovation are a very hard, firm and persistent undertaking. It makes ideals sprout, it makes persistence grow, and it makes fearlessness bear fruit. This vigorous spirit and vigor often make many impossible things possible; The effect of mutual transformation between material and spirit can often be better. Many small animals and plants written by Bai Lv, such as grass, geese, goldfish, moths, sand grains and egrets, can produce magical effects in this fearless pursuit. The innovation of Bai Lv's poems is not only in the arrangement and rhythm of poems, but also in his regard of poetry as a language art. Language is also a tool to load ideas. Therefore, the premise of his poetic language innovation is also a language with connotation and thought, which is by no means flashy, grandstanding and clown-like bloggers in life.
For example, in the poem Sky, he created such a sentence: "The sky is no longer a daddy, and the sky is no longer a daddy". In the poem "Wild Goose", there is a sentence of "drum on the wind". At first glance, these poems seem inexplicable, but they are full of mystery. The former shows a man suffering from drought and looking forward to calling for rain. Instead of rain, fireworks and fighter planes have appeared. "The sky is no longer a father" shows the curse of the peasant language on the sky no matter what time. "Drum on the wind" shows the proud attitude and confident expression of geese flying in the sky. This kind of innovation is far beyond the scope of language, but an innovation in image and a new generalization in connotation. Bai Lv is an innovator in Taiwan Province's poetry circle.
