Instant Appreciation of Suburban Gardens

This poem describing spring is written in a fresh and natural way, with a measured opening and closing. The whole poem is not limited to objectively describing the scenery, but also incorporates more of the author's own feelings. As Liu Xie said: "The poet feels things and makes endless connections. While lingering on everything, he meditates on the audio-visual area. Writes about the atmosphere. The appearance of the picture is not only related to the object; it is attached to the sound, and it also lingers with the heart." ("Wen Xin Diao Long·Wu Se")

The first couplet shows the poet's thoughts and also serves as the basis for the whole poem. It sets the tone - describing spring and singing about spring. The couplet describes spring mountain scenery and mountain springs, using painted barriers and music as a comparison, and using the word "suspicious" to express the author's subjective feelings to connect them, indicating that the two are very similar. Although there are no words to directly describe the colors and sounds, it is full of bright colors and beautiful music. Although it is a side description, it can stimulate imagination and interest more than a frontal description. The neck couplet turns to the front to describe spring flowers and plants, using the words "he" and "deep" to emphasize that spring is everywhere, and the vitality of spring is before your eyes. The last couplet describes the poet's feelings after his spring outing, echoing the first couplet, and also expresses the poet's desire to be intoxicated with nature and want to return to the countryside.

On the whole, the whole poem combines frontal description and side description, echoing the beginning and the end, and connecting the front and back. Compared with other poems that are only positive descriptions, such as Wang Ya's poem of the Tang Dynasty, "Thousands of apricot trees by the river, newly blooming in the night wind. The garden is full of dark and light colors, in the green waves" ("Spring Outing Song"), this poem is more Subtle, novel and thought-provoking. The whole poem expresses the poet's desire to abandon his official position and return to the mountain garden by describing the charming spring scenery in the garden.
