Bai Juyi's ancient poem Crane

The title of this poem is Feeling the Crane, and the whole article is also written around the crane. Crane is a lovely bird. In Shi Shuo Xin Yu, "stand out from the crowd" is used to describe outstanding talent or appearance. The ancients also said that cranes were immortal birds. Therefore, the poet put pen to paper in this poem to describe the unusual characteristics of cranes. At the beginning of the poem, there is a crane that stands out from the crowd and stands high above the field. The crane is a fairy bird. This kind of crane doesn't want to follow the crowd, so its noble quality of not following the crowd is self-evident. So the poet said that it didn't eat the meat of rotten mice when it was hungry, and didn't drink the water from stealing springs when it was thirsty. Describe the nobility of cranes by describing their behavior of avoiding these things. "Ceng Zi is cheap, and he doesn't drink and steal springs". Lu Ji's "Fierce Tiger Walk" says: "If you are thirsty, you will not drink the water from the stolen spring, but if you are hot, you will be more than evil." It can be seen that this unusual crane has the kind of honesty and integrity that the sages once participated in. Even if it flies with all the birds, it has its own outstanding characteristics. The poet further pointed out that this crane has been in this condition for more than ten years, which shows that this crane is an upright and firm wild crane and will never degenerate.

However, "things are unknowable and naturally move sometimes." Even a firm and upright wild crane, once greedy, is captured after being shot down by an arrow. In this way, once upon a time, honesty and frankness that stood out from the crowd and did not eat carrion became a thing of the past and was thrown out of the cloud nine. Finally, the poet sighed and concluded: In order to fill a bowl, he will give up his nobility for many years, and besides, he will have the privilege of taking a doctor's car.

This is an allegorical poem, which vividly expresses some philosophy of life, some ambition or interest of people through a concrete thing. Fable itself is a metaphor. Even if the noumenon is not pointed out, people will feel the poet's intention in concrete images. The poet of this poem is intended to satirize those who are not determined and give up their ambitions for the sake of appetite. From the narrative description in the poem, it should be pointed out that. There are many poems about cranes, but there are four comments at the end. These comments are different from those in general fables and are not conceptual. It is closely combined with poetic language and vivid image description, which makes people feel that the "noble person" who forgets the benefits and loses his will is just a "lofty" gesture. Bai Juyi also has a poem "Crane", which describes another kind of crane: "Bowing your head is afraid of cinnabar falling, and dry wings are always suspicious of snow disappearing." Perhaps this lofty and aloof red-crowned crane is his ideal
