Dutch April: Spring and floral fragments

I don’t particularly like studying, so I often go home directly after class and rarely stay until evening.

Until one day in April, I accidentally stayed at school very late in order to meet a deadline.

It was completely dark when we left the department building. There was no one in the school, and there were only a few bicycles left in the bicycle garage.

The air is cool. When I was riding my bicycle, I suddenly felt that some gaps I passed by made me feel restless.

I pedaled faster than usual, and the wind blowing across my face felt strangely gentle.

Not far away, at the end of the road, there is a huge poplar tree. Without slowing down at all, he swept through the poplar flowers falling on the ground in one breath, and the air instantly exploded with green fragrance. The smell seemed familiar, but I couldn't remember where it had appeared before.

Passing through the woods, the front suddenly becomes vast. The sky at this time was a deep blue lake, and thousands of whitebaits flew up from the place where the bicycle passed, slowly swimming into the night sky with the ocean current.

Then I rode faster and faster, humming a high-spirited song in my heart. The wind whistled beside my ears, and the cool night became more and more restless.

Hear the heartbeat and the pulsation deep in the earth——

Plop. thump. thump.

It took me a while to recall that it was exactly the same feeling as running towards the person I like.

——Spring is here.

I don’t know if April is the most beautiful season in the Netherlands, but after the five-month long winter, bathing in the sunshine, you will quickly forget the fear of being dominated by the cold wind of winter. The Netherlands greatly appreciated it and stepped into the embrace of warm and sunny nature.

Can you share some places about spring in the Netherlands?

In early April, I went to the High Veluwe National Park (also known as the Van Gogh National Forest Park).

My Dutch classmates strongly recommended it, saying that you can see very different natural scenery. Although the journey is far away, it is indeed very satisfying and feels like it is worth the price of admission.

The title "small forest" is not quite accurate, because there are also completely different natural scenery such as heathlands, grasslands, sand dunes, and lakes.

When riding a bicycle in the forest, the air around me seemed to be able to squeeze out green, and I wanted to scream with happiness.

Free white bicycles are available throughout the park. Cycling through grasslands and sand dunes, it feels like an ordinary road with BGM.

If you have a museum card, remember to bring it with you. The Küller-Müller Museum in the park has the second largest Van Gogh collection in the world.

Highly recommend this place. If you have the chance, I would like to go see the deer and heather fields again in the summer. Friends who want to go can call me~

? Before going, you can check the official website (hogeveluwe.cn). The information is very detailed and the opening hours are different in different months. Different, sometimes the tickets are discounted~

When talking about Keukenhof Park, the Dutch classmate first said that it is a place that tourists must visit but locals would not want to go, but then said, no. If you have been there, you can still take a look.

To be honest, this park is not quite to my liking, there are too many tourists, and the flowers are in clusters instead of the expected fields. But "If you haven't been there, you can still take a look." After all, seeing tulips is one of the things to do in the Netherlands.

The flowers all over the world make me dizzy when I see them, probably because "the flowers are becoming more and more charming." I had no idea where to look or how to take pictures. In the end, the photos all seemed to be in the style of desktop wallpapers from the last century. I was very helpless_(:з」∠)_

Let’s share a set of wallpapers↓

Let’s take a walk~< /p>

On the way from Leiden to the park, I sat on the bus and watched the bus windows seeing off one field after another of flowers.

I heard that you can rent a bicycle and ride along the flower fields while looking at them. I think that would be more interesting.

?You can pay attention to the flowering period. I went early and the flowers didn’t bloom...

?There are many tourists, so it is recommended to travel during off-peak hours.

For me, the highest compliment I can give to the weather is probably "I want to go out for a run."

When I went out for a run, I discovered that the spring downstairs was also surrounded by flowers, which made me helpless.

For example, the green belt in the middle of the road is full of daffodils.

Various flowers will be planted on the windowsill of every household’s yard.

There is a huge cherry blossom tree next to a restaurant. I was actually a little moved when I saw it.

(The following is a bit of personal rant that has nothing to do with the main text...Thanks to friends who have read this. If you can't stand it, please scroll to the bottom and like it. Thank you)

Get up and wash up After breakfast, the moment I opened the curtains, I felt that the whole world was bright. But when I sat at my desk and opened my computer and saw the half-finished files yesterday, I just felt that the sunlight shining on the screen was very dazzling.

When spring comes back in the form of emerald green, it illuminates everything. I’m embarrassed to turn a blind eye to the New Year’s resolutions I made in winter.

Executable plans are always much harder than setting goals. So I always switch back and forth between overconfidence and self-doubt.

But think about it from another perspective, spring is used to "start".

It’s good to have a “start”.

Let’s wait until autumn to see how it turns out.
