The sun is shining outside the screen window, and dusk is coming; Lock the gorgeous house, no one sees my sad tears.
The courtyard is lonely and the spring scenery is dying; Pear flower falls, close the door.
Translation:
Sunlight disappears from the screen window and dusk falls. No one saw my sad tears when I locked the door. The courtyard is empty and the spring scenery fades away; Pear flower falls is on the ground, and the ruthless door is closed.
This poem is about the collapse of the palace. This is a new poem. Although spoiled, it is desolate. "Pear blossoms" is the ultimate writing in the poem.
Liu, a native of Luoyang (now Luoyang, Henan), was a Hun around 758 AD. In the early days of Tianbao, he tried to learn and wanted to join the army, but all failed. Since then, he has lived in seclusion in Shui Ying and on both sides of Ruhe River, and has never been an official.
