2021-05-18: Zhongjiang Cangshan, a thousand years of history in one corner (2)

Cangshan, an ancient and unique city, once had Feiwu County in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, leaving a splendid cultural chapter for thousands of years. The well-preserved "Yu Palace", "Emperor Temple" (Deyang Municipal Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit), "Chaolong Temple", "Feiwu Site", "Dawang Stone Carvings", etc. are witnesses of the glorious history. Originating from the Zhou Dynasty, the "Cangshan Music" (the first batch of Sichuan Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Deyang Municipal Intangible Cultural Heritage) and the "Taipo Dragon Lantern" (the first batch of Deyang Municipal Intangible Cultural Heritage) are known as "living fossils of music" with powerful and exciting sounds. level intangible cultural heritage), "Puppet Sichuan Opera", "Tea Rhythm Customs", etc., are the continuation of the splendid culture of Chinese civilization. If I have the opportunity in the future, I will visit and experience it.

Cangshan is the largest town in Zhongjiang. It is located on a traffic artery, at the southernmost end of Deyang, at the junction of three cities and four counties: Zhongjiang County, Daying County, Lezhi County and Santai County. (The picture below is from "Deyang Town Club")

The "ancient flavor" of the ancient town is not connected into one area. They are connected by an ordinary commercial main street in the town.

This is a very life-oriented street called "Heping Road". There are several teahouses where elderly tea drinkers and card players gather, enjoying themselves happily. Upstairs at the "Die Dian Xiang" small hotpot, two rows of bacon are dried on bamboo poles, giving off a clear color under the sunlight.

There are many electric motorcycles parked on the street, and villagers of both sexes are drinking tea and having fun in teahouses.

There are also private doctors who wait for patients to come to their clinics.

There is a Town God's Temple on the street, which is also the Cangshan Ancient Town Cultural Tourism Hall, the site of the Chinese Taoist Culture Sichuan Joint Training Center and the health center.

Cangshan City God Temple is located on Jianshe Road, Cangshan Town (see Baidu). It was built in the fourth year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of ??1940 square meters and a building area of ??1536 square meters. It has a compound courtyard layout. In 2019, the Cangshan City God's Temple was announced by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government as the ninth batch of provincial cultural relics protection units.

The ancient theater building, Huitou building and City God's Hall are rigorously laid out and magnificent.

? (The following ancient street text comes from the "Deyang City Association") The rebuilt old streets and street-facing buildings have all been restored to the style of the heyday of the Republic of China and Qing Dynasty, with a unified appearance and color tone.

There are criss-crossing lanes extending on both sides of the ancient street. They are long or short, wide or narrow, with high walls and narrow lanes, which are simple and remote.

The life in the ancient town is rich and slow-paced. Looking around, it seems like we are back to the past again.
