Wen Tianxiang expressed his interpretation of life and death in poetry.

Zero Crossing and Ding Yang is a famous patriotic seven-character poem written by Wen Tianxiang in the second year after the poet was captured. /kloc-in the first month of 0/279, the Yuan army left the Pearl River Estuary and attacked the last stronghold of the Southern Song Dynasty (in Nanhai, Xinhui, Guangdong). Wen Tianxiang, who was defeated and captured, was escorted with him. When the ship crossed the Dingyanghe River, Yuan Marshal Zhang Hongfan forced Wen Tianxiang to hand over Zhang Shijie, commander-in-chief of Song Jun, who was sticking to the mountain. Wen Tianxiang wrote this poem to show his determination to die for his country. This is a poem that never dies, and it is also Wen Tianxiang's masterpiece.

First, the feeling of sadness is exciting.

The opening of the poem traces his early opportunity to become an official and his later experience of resisting the failure of the Yuan Dynasty. The first and second events are the rest, showing the span of time, including all kinds of hardships for the poet to serve the country and be an official. Then it points out the situation at that time: the country is divided, the tragedy of national subjugation is inevitable, and the lonely national subjugation minister is like a rootless duckweed floating on the water, with no attachment. Looking back at the cruelty of the past, mourning the disaster of the country, feeling the ups and downs of life experience, and suffering the poet's mood in all kinds of pains, between the lines, it is not difficult for us to feel the great pain of the poet's ruin and self-blame. Five or six sentences continue the previous meaning, further exaggerate the growth, and return to reality from the painful memories of the past and the worries about the current situation of the country. The poet who fought bravely and was defeated and captured is now imprisoned on a warship in Ding Yang. He is lonely and helpless, and his inner pain is self-evident. "The mountains and rivers are broken and the wind is floating, and life experiences are ups and downs." The poet described the national situation as irretrievably floating catkins with "catkins floating in the wind", and compared his life experience to duckweeds drifting without roots in the rain with "rain beating duckweeds", which rose and fell from time to time. The apt metaphor truly reflects the social reality and the poet's situation at that time, and contains extremely deep and painful feelings, while the poet tries to "blow with the wind" and "rain", highlighting the bitterness of the scene. "Fear of the beach says fear, and there is a sigh in the ocean." The poet skillfully grasped the two place names of "Fear Beach" and "Zero Ding Yang", which made these two place names with double meanings and emotional colors naturally opposite, showing the situation of "fear" in the past and "zero Ding" today, and writing about the sinister situation and the danger of the situation.
