Nanchang, the moment the guide picked us up, I started a two-day tour of Lushan Mountain.
On the way, the guide told us some interesting stories.
On the custom of blind date in ancient Jiangxi.
Legend has it that in a large family in Jiangxi, if a girl is born, parents will personally plant a camphor tree in the yard. By the time my daughter reached marriageable age, camphor tree seedlings had grown into big trees more than ten years ago. As long as the matchmaker sees this tree outside the courtyard, he knows that the girl who is going to get married at home can propose marriage. If the daughter forgot to plant camphor trees when she was born, she wouldn't get married. When the daughter gets married, the family will cut down the tree and make two big boxes and a small cabinet. Putting silk in a box as a dowry means "two boxes of silk together" "Cabinet" and "your son" are homophonic, meaning that your son was born early.
As an ordinary family, although people are not as rich as big families, every girl can plant trees, but not camphor trees but mulberry trees. Mulberry leaves are used for sericulture and weaving. When girls grow up and get married, they cut mulberry trees and make wooden carts to send girls to get married.
It is precisely because of this custom that ancient matchmakers can often find out whether their daughters have reached the age of marriage by the size of camphor trees or mulberry trees in front of each house and whether they have been cut down. According to the different kinds of trees in front of the door, you can also know the situation at home, so as to introduce the right man.
The tour guide also talked about the process of blind date. After the matchmaker proposed to get married, he took the man to the woman's house for a blind date. The woman peeked behind the curtain. Women don't like it, and neither do men. How should she convey each other's wishes? In ancient times, no matter who went to the door for blind date, the woman's family would politely cook a bowl of noodles for the matchmaker and the man. The answer lies in the man's bowl of noodles. Girls take a fancy to it and will bury two eggs in the noodles. Just when a man falls in love with it, she will eat one and keep the other, indicating that she is willing to be a couple. If she is not in love, she will only eat noodles instead of eggs. If a girl doesn't like it, there will be no eggs on her face, which means that a man has no chance.
This story is really interesting and subverts the matchmaker's words. Isn't this the earliest prototype of free marriage?
When we came to Lushan Tourist Center, the guide took us up the mountain from Nanshan Panshan Highway. Xiao Pang, the tour guide, told us two interesting stories.
One is about the Panshan Highway in Beishan: How many bends are there from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain?
Lushan Mountain is located in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, near Poyang Lake and Yangtze River, with an altitude of 1400 meters. Panshan Highway spirals from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain. It is said that there are 396 detours from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain. There is a famous poem to prove it: "One mountain flies to the riverside, and it leaps onto the lush four hundred spins". It means you have to go through 400 bends to get to Lushan Mountain.
MZD once went to Lushan by bus, accompanied by not only guards and secretaries, but also the then secretary of Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee. Before leaving, Mao casually asked the secretary of the provincial party Committee how many detours there were on this road. The secretary answered 396 bends. Mao doubted this figure, so he asked the guards to strike a match every time the car turned a corner to count the number of detours. The final result was that the guards struck four boxes of matches (each box 100), and the secretary of the provincial party Committee said unhurriedly that the chairman had smoked four cigarettes on the road. Mao laughed after listening.
It is said that through these years of widening and trimming, some corners have been straight, and the whole process is only about 300 corners, which is also true.
The second is about the Panshan Highway in Nanshan: Who is this road built for?
Nanshan Panshan Highway was built in that year to welcome L Biao up the mountain, with more than 190 bends. Because of Li Biao's treason, it was dubbed the "counter-revolutionary route", and the Beishan Highway was built to welcome MZX up the mountain, also known as the "revolutionary golden avenue". This time, we took the "counter-revolutionary line" with fewer detours. The tour guide also said that when the road was being built, something happened to L Biao. He hasn't walked once. Because he didn't go, it was a safe road. We are very lucky today. Taking this road means that our trip is the safest. Everyone will clap their hands. Although everyone knows that the tour guide deliberately teases everyone, everyone is really happy to hear it, so it is more popular to say beautiful words!
