Mongolian boutique dogs existed in the Liao Dynasty and were deeply loved by the Qidan royal family. The Qidan people in Liao Dynasty attached great importance to the choice of hunting dogs. In the mural "Travel Map" of Liao Tomb No.6 in Kulun Banner of Zhelimu League, there is a greyhound. Dogs have long beaks, long legs and thin bodies, giving people a sense of alertness and quickness. With a yellow collar around his neck, he leaned against the grave, his long tail rolled up and looked back. According to Mr. Shao Qinglong's textual research, this dog is a fine breed of Qidan hound. The National Records of the Khitan contains: Khitan "took the sperm dog in the Mongolian solitude (that is, Mongolia)". It can be seen that excellent dogs were cultivated by the Khitan nobles from the Mongols living in the Ergon Valley at that time. According to Shao Guotian's "Mural of Liao Tomb in Lamagou, Aohan Banner", a mural on the east side of the tomb depicts a white running dog with thin waist and high legs and a stout hound. This dog is similar to the greyhound painted on the mural of Liao Tomb No.6 in Kulun, and should belong to the "boutique dog".
According to Du Yuan Chengzhi and related historical records, Genghis Khan brought many Mongolian dogs for vigilance and hunting during his expedition to Europe. These brave and alert puppies made great contributions to the neutrality in the war. After Hou Meng's death, the dog dispersed among the people and naturally propagated. But in 2 1 century, it has become a rare species. Only in eastern China and Inner Mongolia, a few stay in the northeast.
