College entrance examination, referred to as "College Entrance Examination", is a selective examination for qualified college graduates. The general college entrance examination belongs to the provincial unified enrollment standard selection examination, which is led by the provincial education department, managed by the provincial education examination institute, and implemented by the recruitment agencies in various districts and cities.

Candidates who take the exam are fresh graduates of full-time colleges and universities. In essence, it is the connection between junior college education and undergraduate professional education, and the 3+2 model is implemented, that is, three years of full-time study for general college students and two years of full-time study for general undergraduate students (three years of clinical medicine).

After the junior college students in ordinary colleges and universities complete the course study in the junior college stage, according to the national enrollment plan of ordinary colleges and universities and the national enrollment plan of professional colleges and universities compiled by the Ministry of Education and the National Development and Reform Commission in that year (the number of enrollment plans is controlled within 5% of the total number of graduates of ordinary full-time ordinary colleges and universities in all provinces in that year).

Colleges and universities in all provinces announce the number of students enrolled and the examinations organized by the provincial administrative departments, and select outstanding full-time college graduates to take the unified examinations organized by the provincial education examinations institute in the next semester before graduation (some provinces are undergraduate schools).

The original major or related major is promoted to an undergraduate college (junior year) to continue full-time undergraduate education for two or three years (some provinces can cross majors).
