Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring in Dunhuang are known as one of the three wonders of Dunhuang. I have always been full of yearning for this legendary wonder, and this trip to the northwest just fulfilled my dream.
We set off from Jiayuguan and arrived at Mingsha Mountain ~ Crescent Moon Spring after a five-hour drive.
The scenic spot is very large, and there are many stores that rent out costumes at the entrance of the scenic spot. In order to be able to leave a beautiful image by the Crescent Moon Spring, everyone in our group rented a set.
When we recited the poem "Lying drunkenly beside the moon spring with singing sand, thousands of sands and springs have no color", the beautiful scene in front of us instantly filled our eyes.
I took a deep breath and immediately held my breath for fear of disturbing this rare painting.
On the way to Mingsha Mountain, there is a pavilion on the right. It can be reached by a long wooden trestle. The reeds and splendens on both sides of the trestle sway in the wind, rising and falling. It seems to be telling the passing tourists the legendary stories that happened here.
The desert, the blue sky, the turquoise Crescent Moon Spring, and a group of tourists riding camels not far away. No matter which perspective you use to watch it, what you see is a picture of the unity of nature and man.
Looking from a distance, Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring look like a couple attached to each other. You embrace me and I cling to you.
Is it because of deep love that the clear Crescent Moon Spring stubbornly coexists with the quicksand, flowing quietly in this boundless desert for thousands of years?
As we looked closer and closer, the two huge sand dunes that stretched in front of us instantly occupied our sight.
The entire Mingsha Mountain looks crystal clear, spotless under the sunlight, and the shapes of the sand mountains vary. Some are like pyramids, with edges and corners, standing tall; some are like rivers, connected by twists and turns.
If a person slides down the mountain, the sand under his feet will make a "rumbling" sound. The footprints that climbed through the sand mountain will be gone the next day.
According to history books, Mingsha Mountain was formed more than three thousand years ago.
It is said that Mingsha Mountain is the treasure house of the Jade Emperor. In order to stop those greedy treasure hunters, the Jade Emperor ordered Taibai Jinxing to bury the place with yellow sand. So when it's empty inside, it makes a "wow" sound.
Some of the sisters we went with had climbed halfway up the mountain and were taking pictures there. Some are preparing to climb to the top of the mountain to overlook the entire scenic area.

We walked slowly on Mingsha Mountain with bare feet. As we were approaching the top of the mountain, a gust of wind almost blew my sunhat off. We simply stopped climbing, sat down, and looked back at the Crescent Moon Spring at the bottom of the mountain.
She is like a crescent moon, holding the clear green water in her mouth, sleeping quietly surrounded by Mingsha Mountain.
From ancient times to the present, no one can explain this world wonder of "mountain springs everywhere, sand and water everywhere". According to people's imagination, Mingsha Mountain is so high and steep that a strong wind will definitely submerge the Crescent Moon Spring at the bottom of the mountain.
But throughout the ages, "Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring" have always been dependent on each other and lived in harmony.
I remember when I was in junior high school, I read a legend about the Crescent Moon Spring:
"When Tang Sanzang went to the West to learn Buddhist scriptures, he had to pass through Dunhuang. The sky was filled with yellow sand. , there was no water, no food, and the white dragon horse that had been accompanying Tang Seng also died on the road.
Just when Tang Seng was about to lose his strength, Guanyin Bodhisattva happened to see her. In order to save Tang Seng, she died. A drop of golden water dropped into her golden vase, and it became a clear spring like a crescent moon."
The spring is in the quicksand, and the breeze blows, and the blue waves are flowing. The water reflects the Mingsha Mountain, and the Mingsha Mountain surrounds the Crescent Moon Spring. This beautiful landscape attracts countless tourists.
Before we could reach the top of Mingsha Mountain, we also didn’t go to several pavilions around Crescent Moon Spring. The time came to five o'clock in the afternoon, and the tour guide called us, so we had to leave with regret and reluctance.
If you want to enjoy yourself here, you will need at least one day.
As the tourist bus went farther and farther, Mingsha Mountain gradually became blurred in our sight. Only Tian Zhen’s song "Crescent Moon Spring" echoed in our ears for a long time:
< p> "On the other side of the sky, far, far awayThere is the beautiful Crescent Moon Spring, which is the mirror of the sky and the eye of the desert
A paradise where stars bathe, that year I walked through Crescent Moon Spring
Since then, I have been haunted by dreams..."

When we are still immersed in the scene of Crescent Moon Spring, The tour guide began to talk about the final attraction of this trip in the car - Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes.
In order to have a deeper understanding of history when we visited the Mogao Grottoes the next day, we watched the large-scale indoor sitcom "Seeing Dunhuang Again" in the evening.
When we followed the guide into a gravel-lined ramp and turned several big turns, we arrived at the lobby.
The T-Taiwan Avenue paved with fine yellow sand is an intentional Silk Road. The figures who have made contributions to the history and culture of Dunhuang are coming to us one by one.
Time seems to allow us to travel back thousands of years, from Zhang Qian on his mission to the Western Regions to Princess Xiangfu, from the eminent monk Xuanzang to Kumarajiva, Zhang Yichao, the poet Wang Wei...
They traveled through the Silk Road and across the yellow sand. With their stories, they took everyone back to Dunhuang for thousands of years.
While everyone was still immersed in this historical picture, the second act slowly unfolded.
There were many boxes that appeared this time. Each box seemed to be very heavy, and it felt like it was filled with treasures.
Just when everyone was surprised, a strong light shone on Taoist Wang who was selling national cultural relics in exchange for silver.
His face was full of pain, and he was telling people: "Since I discovered the Sutra Cave, I have never had a peaceful day."
Faced with the rebuke of the world, he struggled Begging, repenting and crying to the Bodhisattva on the wall...
But in our huge country, so many treasures have been lost abroad. It is too unfair to blame all historical mistakes on a Taoist priest. .

After we watched the previous scenes, I found that many tourists around were crying, and the atmosphere became solemn.
With heartache, we come to the fourth scene, this time visitors can sit back and watch.
In the scene of marching in the desert with yellow sand filling the sky. Zhang Yichao sent ten envoys to Chang'an to report to the court on re-opening the Silk Road.
The journey was long and far away. Some of the envoys were buried in the yellow sand, and some were frozen to death or starved to death on the way.
In the end, only one person reached Chang'an and narrowly escaped death... How tragic this was!
"How long is a year, in an instant
How long is a life, in an instant
How long is a thousand years, in an instant
As soon as spring goes and winter comes again, a thousand years have passed..."
In the end, the plot slowly unfolded in the dialogue between a young scholar and the poet Wang Wei. Curtain.

The Mogao Grottoes, commonly known as the "Thousand Buddha Cave", are located more than 20 kilometers southeast of Dunhuang City. You can bathe in the majestic desert wind with Mingsha Mountain, and sleep in the sunshine and bright moon with Crescent Moon Spring.
Anyone who has been to the Mogao Grottoes says: “The earlier you go to visit, the better, and the less you take a look.
The moisture exhaled by people and the sunlight passing through will all affect the Mogao Grottoes. The murals and sculptures in the cave have caused damage. I am really worried that this world cultural heritage will disappear one day."
This scenic spot that witnessed the prosperity of Dunhuang is only open in the morning, and the number of visitors is limited every day.
It is located on the waist of an inconspicuous khaki mountain range. When you walk into the Mogao Grottoes area, the first thing you see is the majestic and towering red pavilion.
About nine stories high, it is built against the mountain and is majestic. It shines particularly brightly among the grottoes. It is numbered as Cave 96 and is a must-see when visiting the Mogao Grottoes.
We followed the guide's footsteps and slowly walked into this world-renowned art treasure house. There are 735 large and small caves in the Mogao Grottoes, some of which are intact, and some of which have been damaged and are being repaired.
The most profound influence is Cave 130. According to the stone carving at the door:
This cave was excavated in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. It is shaped like a large Buddha cave with a top, and the Maitreya Buddha statue is 26 meters high. meters, with a bucket-shaped roof, two-story open windows on the east wall, and a niche on the south and north walls of the corridor.
The Buddha statue is solemn and majestic in shape and is also known as the "Nanda Statue". The weight is second only to Cave 96 (Beijing University Statue).
Every painting in the cave is wonderful and colorful. The murals on the top of the cave are also called "Thousand Buddha Paintings".
The image of each Buddha is lifelike, either sitting or lying down. When we were admiring the wisdom of the ancients, the commentator said: "Dunhuang murals and statues all use natural mineral pigments, which are ground from ores, and the colors are bright and thick."
Those quiet and peaceful Buddha statues are so relaxing. The free and easy Feitian and the sitting Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara are all impressive and addictive.
Even the lotus tiles under your feet are treasures of thousands of years...
"One cave has a gift for a lifetime, one cave has a dynasty, and each painting has a story." Those hard laborers The sweat and hard work of those craftsmen and painters have created today's world-famous art treasure.
Here, we seem to see generations of unknown craftsmen exhausting their own body temperature to warm up the compassion of the Bodhisattva.
Let this place radiate the light of faith and wisdom forever.
