It means that the night is about to pass. I lie in bed and hear the sound of wind and rain.
Original text:
I lay sprawled in my lonely country, not feeling sad about my situation, but thinking about defending the frontier of the country.
The night will be over, I lie in bed listening to the sound of wind and rain, in a daze in my dream, riding an armored horse across the frozen river to the northern battlefield.
Translation:
I lay flat in the lonely and desolate country, not feeling sorry for my situation, but thinking about defending the country. As night was coming, I was lying in bed and heard the sound of wind and rain. I dreamt in a daze that I rode an armored war horse across the frozen river.

Creation background
Lu You retired in the 16th year of Xiaozong Xichun in the Southern Song Dynasty (1 189) and lived in seclusion in his hometown of Yin Shan.
This poem was written in Song Guangzong on November 4th, 2003 (1 192). At that time, the poet was 68 years old. Although I am old, my patriotism is undiminished, and I miss serving my motherland day and night.
The poet's strong desire to recover the motherland has been impossible to realize in reality. So, on a stormy night, he touched the scene and moved with emotion, realizing his desire to gallop in the Central Plains in his dream.
Evaluation by famous experts
Zhang Ming, a professor of political science at Renmin University of China, said: "Lu You's poems show the ambition of the country to resist the Japanese war and avenge national humiliation. The so-called' thinking' means thinking about the success of the country. The so-called' cause' is the sound of wind and rain. " Thinking "and" because "* * * work together to become the dream of" Tiema Glacier ". From the level of expressing the subconscious, this shows his firm persistence in fighting against the ambition and ideal of the daily newspaper. "
Poetry appreciation
The second poem profoundly expresses the author's ambition to recover the country and serve the motherland and the unswerving spirit of "being old without losing" in the way of "dreaming", and shows the reader the absolute loyalty of the poet.
The first two sentences of the poem "Sleeping in a lonely village without self-mourning" describe the author's realistic situation and mental state, and "thinking for the country and keeping the wheel platform" is an explanation of the mental state of "not self-mourning", which takes care of before and after and forms a contrast. The words "stiff, lying, lonely and village" describe the lonely, embarrassing and neglected life situation of the author after he left office and returned to his hometown, which hangs over a sad atmosphere. However, the tone of the word "no self-pity" has turned sharply, showing an optimistic and bold spirit.
Lying in the dead of night listening to the wind and rain is followed by two sentences. I can't sleep at night because I want to. If I can't sleep, I can feel the wind and rain of nature more truly. From the storms of nature, I thought of the stormy country. From that stormy country, I naturally think of the storm of war and my youthful military life.
In this way, while listening and thinking, I turned to a special dream-"Iron Horse Glacier". "Dreaming" reflected the sadness of political reality: the poet wanted to serve the country but was rejected, so he could not kill the enemy, and his feelings of defending the enemy could only be shaped in his dream. The Dream of Tiema Glacier is the result of the poet's thinking day and night, which vividly expresses the poet's heroism.
