Notes on Fei Xinwo's Learning Calligraphy

Experience of learning calligraphy

Before you know it, a semester's college career is coming to an end. As a member of Moge Club, I feel very happy and honored. This semester, I mainly studied the European style in Ou Yangxun, but the practice time was short and the effect was not great. I need further study and long-term hard practice. I was exposed to calligraphy when I was a child. To be exact, I picked up a pen and began to write. At that time, the child's mind naturally didn't observe the structure and brushwork of the characters before writing, but confidently thought that the hard pen calligraphy was fairly neat, and this kind of brush writing was not much worse. But now I realize that I was completely wrong! It's out of shape to really start writing with a brush. This semester, with the help of my brothers and sisters, I seem to catch a glimpse of what is hidden behind calligraphy.

It is very important to learn calligraphy to find the law of the same strain from stippling to using a pen. Everyone in the past dynasties attached great importance to writing regular script, so I learned regular script this semester. The first is to lay a good foundation. To lay a good foundation is to learn all kinds of strokes well, and so on. No matter what font you write. The strokes must be natural, the movements must be coherent, the strokes should be smooth, the strokes should be round, and the strokes should be round. The whole movement is just like Tai Chi. The movement should be rhythmic and natural. When lifting a pen, you should press, press, leave and kill the paper, and pay special attention to the place where you start and receive the pen.

Learning calligraphy is to learn to be a man, while practicing calligraphy is to hone and improve one's personality. Although there is only a short semester now, it is enough to benefit me a lot!
