Brief introduction of Weibei font
Weibei refers to the inscriptions and calligraphy works of the Northern Dynasties during the Southern and Northern Dynasties. Generally, it is divided into four types: stele, epitaph, statue stele and cliff stone carving. Among them, the calligraphy in the Northern Wei Dynasty is of high level, diverse styles, simple and steep, comfortable and beautiful.
Wei Bei is a kind of regular script, which is called the three regular script fonts together with Wei Kai, Jin Dynasty regular script and Tang Dynasty regular script. Weibei showed some transitional factors in the development of official script to typical regular script.
In Qing Dynasty, Kang Youwei praised Wei Bei's ten beauties: First, he was courageous; Second, his weather is muddy; Third, his brushwork jumped out; Fourth, his brushwork is solemn and heavy; Fifth, his sense of humor is excellent; Sixth, his spirit is flying; Seventh, he is full of interest; Eighth, his bone method is profound; Ninth, his structure is natural; Tenth, he is rich in flesh and blood, and he is the only one with ten beauties.
