In the past ten years, the calligraphy major he founded has trained a group of calligraphy creation and teaching and research talents, and made outstanding contributions to calligraphy art education in Shandong Province and even the whole country. Professor Yu Maoyang's achievements in calligraphy education stem from his accomplishments in calligraphy art creation. I was diligent and studious in my early years, and I was familiar with famous people all over the world. His works are unique in style, profound in foundation, calm in brushwork, elegant, smart, chic and fluent, concise and connotative, well-known, ingenious in conception and reasonable in layout. As early as the end of 1980s, Professor Yu Maoyang became famous among young calligraphers in Shandong Province with his pure Mi Fei running script. Professor Yu Maoyang studied books in his early years, covering a wide range, such as Oracle bone inscriptions, Zhong Ding, seal script, etc. In recent years, Professor Yu Maoyang has devoted himself to the creation and research of cursive script. His cursive script is based on Mi Fei's cursive script, and has the brushwork of Weibei and Cao Zhang. His artistic style is calm and happy, and does not fall into the general academic pattern. His works are "innovative in statutes and ingenious in spirit", with profound traditional skills and distinctive personality style. Although their books can attract people's attention, they can never rise to a higher artistic level. Professor Yu Maoyang is a scholar first, then a calligrapher. His knowledge is not only reflected in the study of the history of calligraphy, but also in different fields such as literature, poetic discipline and appreciation of cultural relics. A friend asked for a book, and Professor Yu Maoyang presented a self-made poem couplet, so that people who want books now can directly let them write their own poems. The influence of such a broad academic field on Professor Yu Maoyang's calligraphy style is self-evident. Throughout Professor Yu Maoyang's calligraphy works in different periods, there is a strong and free atmosphere filled with a strong and fresh scholarly atmosphere, which is naturally the result of the subtle infiltration of Professor Yu Maoyang's knowledge and cultivation in calligraphy creation.
