Who's Gao Shiqi?

Gao Shiqi (1645-1704) was born in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, and was a Confucian scholar. As a native of Qiantang, he was eager to learn how to write and calligraphy since he was a child. Recommended by the University Pearl, it is enshrined in the palace. In the seventeenth year of Kangxi (1678), he wrote secret edicts, compiled speeches and poems on his behalf, which won the appreciation of Emperor Kangxi. Nineteen years (1680) was awarded as an extra lecturer in imperial academy, and I was promoted to school, at least I was tired. Twenty-eight years (1689), from Emperor Kangxi's southern tour to his home Xixi Mountain Villa, it was named "bamboo window". After being impeached, he retired and returned to China. In the thirty-third year of Kangxi (1694), he was recalled to Beijing to write a book, study in the south, and served as an official assistant to the Ministry of rites. In forty-two years (1703), he died at home, and he died in silence. Emperor Kangxi once commented on him: "A scholar has no meritorious military service, so I treat him with kindness and make me learn more."
