Of course this is possible. As long as you are a beginner and learn a kind of orthodox calligraphy, it is considered the correct path. Whether it is seal script, official script or regular script. It’s just that learning seal script is relatively difficult for beginners. It is too far away from now, so it requires a certain amount of accumulation. The official script is mainly based on the Chinese stele. At present, the mainstream in China is to study Tang steles, followed by Wei steles, and then Han steles. Presumably, the more ancient it is, the fewer people will get close to it. If the Han stele is written well, the regular script will naturally be rich and robust, because many of the ins and outs of regular script come from the seal script and official script. And tracing it back to bronze inscriptions and small seal scripts is also a good transition.
