Nanjie School: Create New Year couplets and promote traditional culture

In order to carry forward the quintessence of the Chinese nation, inherit the culture of traditional Chinese poetry and couplets, and enrich the spiritual and cultural life of teachers, Jishui South Street School recently held a competition for teachers to create Spring Festival couplets.

The teachers were in high spirits, fully communicated together, and actively wrote Spring Festival couplets. Couplets appear vividly on the paper, with novel ideas and neat contrasts, expressing blessings for the New Year and the festival. Teacher Zhang Wenjuan’s words of “Don’t forget your original intention, be knowledgeable and strong-willed to cultivate talents; be brave in your mission, be magnanimous and cultivate talents with high morality.” expresses his love for education. Teacher Zhang Fangfang’s poem “The pine branches become stronger under the pressure of snow, and the plum blossoms are covered with snow and their pistils are fragrant” expresses the scene of vitality as winter passes and spring comes. Teacher Zhang Xiaohong’s poem “The spring breeze blows in the green willows, the jade dog smiles and the golden rooster smiles.” It bids farewell to the old and welcomes the new, sending beautiful wishes for the new year. Teacher Li Xiaogao's "Industry and city are integrated with the beauty of home, and the mountains and rivers are in harmony with each other." expresses the praise of his hometown. Several teachers who are good at calligraphy also splashed ink and painted bright red couplets, bringing a strong sense of spring.

Through this competition, the teachers once again entered into the traditional Chinese culture and felt the rhythmic beauty of poetry and couplets. The level of creation of poetry and couplets has been greatly improved.
