China Lanting Calligraphy Award is a national comprehensive calligraphy professional award approved by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee and co-sponsored by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and China Calligraphers Association. Like the Plum Blossom Award for China Opera, Golden Rooster Award for China Film and Golden Eagle Award for China TV, it is the highest award and honor for calligraphers, calligraphy theorists, calligraphy educators and calligraphers who have made great achievements and outstanding contributions in the fields of calligraphy art creation, theoretical research, calligraphy education, editing and publishing.
The National Exhibition of Calligraphy and Seal Cutting Works (referred to as the National Exhibition), as a comprehensive exhibition with the highest specifications every four years in China's calligraphy circle, is known as the "Olympics" in the calligraphy circle, and is a hall for academic exchanges between calligraphers and calligraphy lovers all over the country. It has been successfully held for ten times so far.
