Enping Museum (former site of Enping County Public Library) is a cultural relics protection unit of Guangdong Province.
The former site of the Enping County Public Library, commonly known as the Big Bell Tower, is located along Jiangxi Road, Ximen Neighborhood Committee, Encheng Subdistrict Office. Built in the 18th year of the Republic of China (1929), it was first used as the Enping County Public Library, and later as the office of the Ministry of Armed Forces. In 2003, it was used as the office building of the Enping City Museum. It faces south, has a brick-concrete structure, and combines Chinese and Western architectural styles. The total length is 18.1 meters, the total width is 18.54 meters, the building covers an area of ??335.57 square meters, the building is 18.34 meters high, and has 3 floors. In 2012, the Guangdong Provincial People's Government announced it as the seventh batch of cultural relics protection units in Guangdong Province.
The Enping Municipal Museum is a state-owned comprehensive museum affiliated to the Enping Municipal Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication Bureau. It is now located at No. 8 Yanjiang Road, Enping City.
The Enping Museum was officially established in June 1984. The original museum site was built on the top of Aofeng Mountain in Enping. After a severe flood in June 1998 caused the library building on the top of Aofeng Mountain to become dilapidated, the museum moved twice. In 2003, it moved to the "Old Enping County Public Library Site" (also known as the Enping County Public Library), which is now a cultural relics protection unit in Guangdong Province. Enping has a long history, outstanding people, talents, numerous historical sites and rich historical and cultural resources. The Enping Museum has been fully open to the public free of charge since January 2009. The museum uses existing collection resources and inter-library resources to organize exhibitions through self-organized exhibitions, imported exhibitions, cooperative exhibitions and other exhibition methods. , carries out various public welfare activities, holds 1 basic exhibition, more than 6 temporary exhibitions every year, organizes mobile exhibitions "into the community and into the campus" more than 2 times, and attracts more than 50,000 visitors every year.
