Wang Baozhong (1952.3.30-), whose pen name is Molong, is from Xuzhou, Jiangsu, and now lives in Beijing. National first-class artist and senior assessor. In his early years, he studied under Mr. Xiao Longshi, Liu Huimin and Zheng Zhengzhu, the older generation of calligraphers and painters in his hometown. Later, after being introduced by Mr. Xiao, he became a disciple of art masters Li Keran and Liu Kaiqu, and then became a disciple of Grandmaster Qi Baishi. He has been visiting the pond for more than fifty years, and his calligraphy and painting works have participated in dozens of domestic and foreign exhibitions. He is currently the vice president, professor and doctoral calligraphy tutor of the Chinese Academy of Painting, the executive director of the Chinese Celebrities Calligraphy and Painting Academy, the senior assessor of artistic quality of the Ministry of Culture, the director of the Art Committee of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, a member of the International Chinese Calligraphy Association, and a member of the International Chinese Art Association. Vice Chairman of the International Artists Association, he has enjoyed special allowances from the State Council since 2007.
