For Yang Zhaoqing, a scholar in the late Qing Dynasty. It means that those who pursue fame and fortune in the world will be awakened by the bells of temples in the morning and drums at night, and give up their desire for fame and fortune, while those who struggle in the sea of people will be recalled by the sound of Buddha's name. This is a typical exhortation couplet, and its philosophy is thought-provoking.
