How to look up words?

Word search can be carried out in three ways: pinyin search, radical search and stroke search.

1, pinyin search method. This method is the most commonly used and basic method, which is suitable for most Chinese characters. We need to know the pronunciation of this word, then find the pinyin in the dictionary, and then we can find the corresponding word. For example, we only need to find the pinyin hao in the dictionary to find the word Hao.

2. Radical search method. This method is suitable for Chinese characters who don't know the pronunciation but know the radicals. According to the radicals of Chinese characters, we can find the correct pronunciation and page number of the word by looking up the corresponding radicals in the radical directory of the dictionary. For example, we don't know its pronunciation, but we know its radical, and then we can find the pronunciation and page number of this word by looking it up in the radical directory of the dictionary.

3. Stroke search method. This method is suitable for Chinese characters with unknown pronunciation and radicals, and it needs to be searched according to the number of strokes of Chinese characters. We need to know the total number of strokes of this Chinese character, and then look up the corresponding Chinese character in the stroke index of the dictionary according to this number of strokes. For example, we don't know the pronunciation and radicals of Chinese character Ji, but we can know that the number of strokes is 3, and then we can find the corresponding word by looking up 3 strokes in the stroke index of the dictionary.
