Evonne's calligraphy "cursive script is vigorous and free and easy, a beginner of Mu Xue, changed his statutes, and called himself a thin book of gold" (see Book History Society). I'm afraid it's too beautiful to say that his calligraphy is "vigorous and powerful", but it's not an exaggeration to say that his handwriting is even, beautiful and charming, and has a full personal style. And his paintings have always been praised by people. Although it is hard to be called a master, he is also like a master. He is "good at painting flowers and stones, making ink and bamboo, regardless of shade, with a color of burnt ink and a white road in secret, forming his own family" (see Book and History Society). In addition, art historians are very impressed by his feather works. He painted feathers, "with raw lacquer, clear, beans hidden, higher than paper, moving" (see Deng Bang's painting below). Although this unique technology is only small, it shows how dedicated it is spiritually and emotionally.
Gu Tao commented on Li Yu in this way: "The first master was good at writing, his pen trembled, and his way was as firm as cold pine and frost bamboo, which was called Jin Cuodao. Writing big characters instead of writing, rolling silk books, all can be satisfied, and the world is called a book "(see Gu Tao's Qing Song Louis). His "Jin Cuodao" calligraphy had a far-reaching impact on the calligraphy and painting circles in the late Song Dynasty and even the Yuan Dynasty. Many famous painters have learned his brushwork, and some people have used this brushwork to draw tree trunks, and the visual effect is wonderful.
