Wang Caibai (1887 ~ 1940), whose real name is Kong Qi, whose word is Bai, whose name is Lian 'an, whose nickname is Xitong Jushi, is from Xixi, Shexian County. He was born in a famous family in Huizhou and is known as "ten surnames and nine kings". Grandfather Wang, whose real name was in the second year of Guangxu (1876), took Weng Tonghe as his teacher and was a scholar in the sixth year of Guangxu (1880). Zeng Guofan hired him as the editor of the Loyalty Bureau, and later as Li Hongzhang's aide, he gave lectures at Jingfu Academy in Anqing, Zhongjiang Academy in Wuhu and Ziyang Academy in Huizhou. Huang and Xu Chengyao are out of the door. He has written a lot in his life and is known as "a great scholar in Jiangnan". Wang Caibai studied less at home and worshipped his uncle Wang as a teacher. Wang, whose real name is Juyou, was born in Guangxu period and received western education. He once taught in Nanjing Liangjiang Normal School (now Nanjing University), was a member of the League, and was good at poetry, painting and calligraphy. At the age of five, Wang Caibai took Huang as his teacher and learned the four books and five classics and the methods of calligraphy and painting. At the age of twenty-one, he entered the Chinese painting technology department of Liangjiang Normal School, and studied under his uncle Wang's close friend Li Ruiqing. Li Ruiqing, born in Linchuan, Jiangxi Province, whose real name is Lin Zhong, whose name is Mei 'an, and whose name is Qing Daoist, was a famous calligrapher in the late Qing Dynasty. After graduation, Mr. Cai Bai successively served as a professor at Wuchang Normal School, Beijing Normal School, director of the Department of Traditional Chinese Painting of Nanjing Central University, president of Anhui No.2 Middle School, and professor at Beiping Art College.
During the Japanese occupation of North China, Cai Bai painted wind, willow and cicada to express his feelings. After the painting was exhibited, it was ordered by the French minister. A Japanese businessman is also willing to pay a huge sum of money to buy another painting by Mr. Bai, but Mr. Bai angrily refused. He said, "I am not a machine." Old friend Tao Xingzhi praised Mr. Tao Xingzhi as "shameful". Mr Xi died young at the age of 54.
