Xiong Fei’s growth process

When Xiong Fei was a child, he saw a scholar writing couplets at a Spring Festival fair. He watched it carefully and fell in love with calligraphy from the bottom of his heart. But because the family has only had a hoe pole and no pen holder for generations, they can only learn calligraphy on the ground with small wooden sticks. When he was in school, he liked the big-character class the most and was particularly diligent in studying. After joining the army in 1970, he served in the logistics organization of the Beijing Guard Force. The leader saw that he could write well and asked him to arrange a study garden and publish bulletins. With such good conditions, Xiong Fei became even more diligent in learning and practicing calligraphy. In 1978, he transferred to the chemical industry department in Beijing and continued to write in his spare time. His calligraphy practice mainly focused on calligraphy, starting with Ou Kai script, and then the famous calligraphy calligraphy of Erwang, Mi Fu and Zhao Ziang. His favorite is the cursive calligraphy of Zhang Xu, Zhang Zhi, Huai Su and Sun Guoting. What is particularly important is that he loved wine and was a chivalrous person throughout his life. He especially admired the patriots and lofty ideals of the past generations. Once he talked about calligraphy, he talked endlessly. Because his surname was Xiong and his first name was Fei, his friends gave him the nickname "Drunken Bear".
