Xiang Sihua
Xiang Sihua, a contemporary Chinese zither music master who is well-known in the Chinese music scene and famous at home and abroad, was born in Shanghai in 1940 He specialized in piano in his early years. Later, he studied under the famous Zhejiang zheng master Wang Xunzhi. He also learned other genres of zheng music from Cao Zheng and Guo Ying. He graduated from the Ethnic Music Department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. While in school, he tried playing double zither for the first time and showed his talent, which was well received.
After graduation, Xiang Sihua served as a guzheng soloist in the Beijing Film Orchestra, Shanghai Orchestra and China Opera and Dance Theatre, and taught at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and the China Conservatory of Music. Zhou Yanjia
