Where is the statue engraved with Laozi and Tao Te Ching on that mountain?

(Reporter Li Guolin) On the morning of April 17, the unveiling ceremony of the statue of Laozi and the tablet gallery of Tao Te Ching was held under the lush Renshou Mountain in Anning Fort. Once the red silk cloth covering the 6.9-meter-high and 60-ton portrait of Laozi was unveiled, it immediately aroused the amazement and cheers of tourists and audiences inside and outside the province. It is understood that in order to carry forward the traditional virtues of Chinese civilization and do a good job in the development of Renshoushan cultural tourism resources, the villagers of Anning Fort raised more than 3 million yuan to vigorously package Renshoushan Scenic Area, transform Shoushan Avenue, sculpt the statue of Laozi and the tablet gallery of Tao Te Ching, and open up a quiet Laozi cultural square. The statue of Laozi, which cost more than 200,000 yuan to carve, has become the largest statue of Laozi in our province.

It is reported that in 2007, the Peach Blossom Festival in Anning is about to open, so it is natural to unveil the statue of Laozi. I hope this will attract tourists' attention and open up new income-generating channels for culture and tourism. The reporter saw at the scene that Laozi had big ears, a long beard, a drooping chest and a roll of bamboo slips in his right hand. Experts told reporters that Laozi is like an advanced special cement sculpture. Not far behind the statue of Laozi is the Daodejing long stele gallery, which is 36 meters long and 2 meters wide and consists of 56 stone tablets. The forest of steles carved the Tao Te Ching written by Zhao Meng, a famous calligrapher in Yuan Dynasty. These large-scale and magnificent humanistic landscapes inherit the essence of China Taoist culture, and the organic combination of history, culture and tourism will surely attract a large number of tourists.
